Why did contreras dive to agon instead of just protecting the plate?

I think that's the right call ..."looks" like he just beat the tag....but "looks" isn't the same as he "definitely" got in there...

I'm confused. What's the point of having HD ultra slow motion replay and reviewing it in a painfully slow process if you're just going to ignore what's on the video?

I agree that his hand may have been above the plate rather than on it. In the long run, just not enough evidence to overturn.

Gonzalez, 2011: God wanted us in the tank down the stretch.
Me: BOOO
Gonzalez, 2016: I won't stay in a Trump hotel.
Me: YAY
Gonzalez, just now: (Hassles umpires on the headset to New York.)
Me: C'mon Adrian, I just got back on board.

You must have some seriously great video equipment and a huge monitor to be so sure he was safe.
Even with multiple angles I couldn't be sure.

They could fix this with technology. Be constantly monitoring the capacitance (C) of home plate. A human touching it would make C go up. Not a flux capacitor but a capacitance meter.

nice pitching. Don't give in to the guy who can really hurt you (Bryant) and own the guy you have the advantage over.

No, but AGon's hand was on the plate before he was tagged. The review was deemed inconclusive because it's possible that AGon's hand was hovering 0.5mm above the plate, which is a ridiculous level of detail that no video will show. So what's the point of the replay if you're going to use standards like that?
