Markovic is a liability, Arsenal need to attack down the right.

And Liverpool need to make Arsenal pay for allowing space in the center before they sort it out

Going to have to watch this on replay but I hear we're looking dire.

Not a great situation to be missing your first, second, and third choice central midfielders when the opponent is playing 3-7-0 or whatever.

Torn on the second goal. Would Mignolet have done better?

It's a point blank shot with some pace. The two most difficult places to get your hands in that situation are down and directly above the head, so good strikers will definitely take their chance. But... Jones was flat footed and small. Did he have time to charge and get big?

Mignolet is actually a good shot stopper, he's just hopeless on anything in the air.

Don't know if he would have saved that, but he probably would have been in better position.

After another replay... Jones didn't have time to charge. He hopped before the shot, which is a common problem with young and inexperienced keepers. It gives a better feel for springing to either side, but it creates a delay in actually implementing any type of lower body movement. He was at the flattest point when Giroud hit it and couldn't reset his feet.

It would have been a strong save, but I believe an experienced keeper at this level should keep that out.

Edit: He was also far too low in a crouch. His legs were definitely too far apart.

9 minutes still manages to seem conservative given the stoppages. Skrtel, Welbeck, Jones. subs and a goal.
