Edit: Gayle Fee is the author; I'd put good money on Dennis being the "spy" quoted. Replace the he with I'mWEEI’s MIA morning man John Dennis is scheduled to return to the airwaves Monday and his boss says he expects him back, but word from our station spies is that the longtime jock talker actually quit his gig two weeks ago because he has had it with on-air partner Kirk Minihane.
Entercom Boston boss Phil Zachary told the Trackyesterday that “Dino is happily enjoying his vacation” and that he is “scheduled to be back next week.”
But station sources say Dennis has made it clear he will not return and all that’s left to negotiate is the terms of his departure.
“(He’s) all done doing sports talk in Boston. Twenty years. Dino out,” said our spy.
I can't imagine anyone else saying "Twenty years. Dino out" with a straight face.I'd put good money on Dennis being the "spy" quoted.
That's perfect. Grease the skids for Dennis to leave and then plop into his seat. It's always Ordway.
I heard he sprained his ego, which for him was probably a near fatal injury.@JohnDennisWEEI @JohnDennisWEEI 27m27 minutes ago
This is NOT AT ALL about my relationship w @kirkmin WHATSOEVER. We did great radio for 3 years. My MGH Docs insist I cut back my schedule!
JD is on a prolific twitter posting spree this afternoon
Who's reporting that? Don't see it anywhere.Callahan and Minihane featuring Archand starting in October!!!
The morning shows in Bostonhave always been outliers when it comes to the prominence of their producers. Curtis and Adolfo never were entertaining on-the-air, but it's hard for a listener to know how else they contributed. The producers after Curtis seemed to be an improvement, I'm not sure why he's considered an upgrade but oh well.
On a weird note, when I clicked on the "I'm back" twitter link above it says that he's blocked me. Odd, since I'm a passive reader of twitter and haven't ever tweeted at him.
Well Adolfo did do a lot of the field work at first, although Rich did his share as well. It seems like Rich was doing a lot of the editing and production on the work, but Adolfo was generating content. But listening to other shows, it seems like their producers do the editing and production prior to and during the show. At least on the Sportshub.Who's reporting that? Don't see it anywhere.

As long as the regular 3rd voice isn't Tanguay, this show will be an improvement and maybe even regularly listenable.Chad Finn @GlobeChadFinn
Minihane becomes official cohost with Callahan. Third voice expected to be in place by October 1.
I just can't listen to anything with Minihane. He's the worst thing to sports / talk radio in a long time. His act is so pathetic. They could put Jesus Christ in the 3rd chair and I wouldn't tune in.As long as the regular 3rd voice isn't Tanguay, this show will be an improvement and maybe even regularly listenable.
JC has some HOT TAKEZ, man. You'd love what he says about the DH, Deflategate and mooching war widows. He makes Callahan sound like Buddha.I just can't listen to anything with Minihane. Nice. McAdam is definitely not one to take shots. He must HATE JD.Much like JC, Minihane is a trust fund baby. What'd JC ever earn for himself? He just lived off his father's reputation.
Edit: On another note i think it was Sean McAdam who was a guest on T&R today and started out the call with "Hey Fred, sorry to hear you're leaving the show with a fake medical condition because you hate your co-workers" Fred and Rich were dying to say something but they took the high road and just laughed and moved on.
so no more Brad Faxson?Callahan and Minihane: Less golf talk, more hatred
Tim Tebow has turned to baseball. Sorry.I just can't listen to anything with Minihane. He's the worst thing to sports / talk radio in a long time. His act is so pathetic. They could put Jesus Christ in the 3rd chair and I wouldn't tune in.
That is definitely not how the ratings game works. Maybe unless you are an infomercial or something.if you listened for 5 minutes extra to figure out what they were talking about, then they did their job: kept you listening
He wouldn't be popular here. He really likes sacrificing.I just can't listen to anything with Minihane. He's the worst thing to sports / talk radio in a long time. His act is so pathetic. They could put Jesus Christ in the 3rd chair and I wouldn't tune in.
you mean he didn't give the first interview to his old buds at WHDH?!Maria Stephanos interviewed John Dennis about his departure from EEI. He is sticking to he was sick of getting up early and being tired all the time, it comes across as less than believable to me.
He didn't say anything nice about Kirk but he didn't rip him either, though he will be with them next week for the Jimmy Fund telethon so maybe he didn't want to come across as (too much of) a dick to him in public before then.

With Dennis' contribution to the Jimmy Fund Radiothon over, the rebranding of the show seems to have already begun. The show's twitter handle is now @KirkandCallahan instead of @DandCShow.
It's amazing how painful this show is. It's like a car wreck. I often spend 2+ hours in the car from 6-10 so I'll turn it on during 98.5 commercials and usually I end up switching it to commercials instead of the show. The topics i heard today were:Got in the car this morning. EEI was on from listening to yesterday's game. Heard Tanguay talking about having sex on an airplane. Immediately turned the radio off. I'll take a disengaged John Dennis over Tanguay. I'd even prefer Mike Adams.
Is Tanguay REALLY being considered for the permanent 3rd slot? I can't imagine a more insane business decision.Got in the car this morning. EEI was on from listening to yesterday's game. If you believe Kirk in his podcast, then yes he is advocating for Tanguay. Is Tanguay REALLY being considered for the permanent 3rd slot? I can't imagine a more insane business decision.
