after watching him get stretchered off the floor, about as good as we could have hopedHe was released from the hospital and rejoined the team for their return to Boston. I'd guess concussion protocol and he'll be back in a couple weeks.
He was pretty much out cold and they're extra cautious with head/neck injuries in sports these days. Their protocol was appropriate, even though it gave some viewers serious agita.after watching him get stretchered off the floor, about as good as we could have hoped

I can't imagine they'd release him to fly if there were really any more worries outside of the concussion...I'm still a bit nervous that it's more, but it's probably paranoia.
And Elmer's delivered them an 0-2 record, so he can't be that important.Just read an Athletic article about it, and Semi is the guy that apparently pulled the team together into a huddle, led a prayer for his teammate. What was interesting is that Semi was also the guy that did that when Hayward got hurt. And that was Semi's first game ever. I know we talk a lot about want to move on from him, but it seems he's something of a glue guy for the team.
I agree with the first part. But my guess is that the injury is more neck-related than head-related.On the positive side, when the injury happened, it wasn't one of those where you say, "Damn, that looks bad." It wasn't like he went sky high for a rebound, tumbled over and landed on his head. It was terrifying to see him stretched out on the floor, motionless, but the collision itself didn't look bad on replay. So my prayers are with him and I'm hoping it was just a concussion that shook him up.
He caught himself from hitting the floor with his hands/knees, lays on his side and then stops moving. If you watch the video, he was moving right after the collapse.Very scary. From the slow motion replay, the way he collapsed on the floor, not moving. I thought he might have broken his neck. We're just fans, but I can't imagine what the players were going through having it be someone who is at least a co-worker and for I'm sure some of them, a very close friend. To go out and have to finish a basketball game after that - yikes.
