Though I’m a fan, I’m no sycophant: The
chances that we win it all are scant. A
newly-freed genie would have to grant a
wish, or a witch would have to enchant a
few bats and some gloves, or perhaps Santa
could bring some stars to help us supplant the
teams we’re chasing (be they bird or manta.)
An obscure point to wrap up this rant: a
rubber tree was once moved by an ant! The
odds may be long, but who says we can’t? A
tough task awaits. It starts with Atlanta.
(A win would be sweet as Orange Fanta.)

It would have been too easy for him to just type out NAACP if in fact that's what he's talking about. But honestly you never know.
Complete derailment - I paid for about half of my 2004 STH bill by selling off that 3 game series against the MFY to whatever DNC attendees were flocking to the city that year. I assume they were coming in for the convention only based on the fact that none of the shipping addresses were in the Northeast.
Really hard. A bunch of Braves fans are out and about town today. Hopefully they're getting soaked.
Yeah, was about to post that I hope everyone enjoyed their nice mid-homestand off day yesterday. Obviously the schedule-makers didn't know how the weather would play out, but I've never understood why those exist. Sort of like I don't understand Cora's weird commitment to not starting Pivetta when they have a 2-man rotation.
I'm thinking delayed start probably by 8 at the latest (maybe) and I don't think there's rain after that.

There was flooding in my home town (Enfield, CT). Town received over 5 inches of rain today.
