Sure, but he didn't give the team any chance tonight, when they still had a gut shot chance at it. Barring any extenuating circumstances, something is up.
Potentially, I think we will have to find out who was and wasn’t available, and to a larger extent- how some of these personnel decisions and strategies are determined. I highly doubt the opener thing and bringing in the guy just called up in the 5th are all Cora’s doing.

Hopefully varitek goes to Cora’s house after the game and tells him he’s going cut his nuts off and stuff them down his fucking throat.

I've never had such a change in feeling about a team's overall baseball season mid-game. Tonight had a touch of fall in the air and this felt like it was going to be our playoffs, win or lose. We could easily lose to a team like Houston with our best, which would be disappointing of course, but I was excited for the feel of a playoff game even if we didn't get to experience the real thing this year. Instead it's being treated as a mid-May game, losing in a middle-inning white-flag way with the worst pitcher on our roster, a "no hands on deck" game...and it just pours cold water on any sense that we were headed for a potentially exciting stretch run of the season in search of a playoff berth. Totally unexpected too.

Thank you for doing a better job of voicing my feeling than I can right now.

I didn’t even realize Hamilton was up.

Story is a smooooth operator at short. His defense is everything it was promised to be. So that’s nice.

I’ll hate Dombrowski until the day I die. Amazing to say about a WS-winning GM but goddamn has the Sale mistake cast a massive shadow since before the ink was dry.

Well if anyone is going to give us some highlight reel stuff from Cedanne in center it's Barraclough.

As long as he can keep it in center which, maybe not.
