I guess I really don’t get this. If it’s truly a team matter and not a league matter, why suspend the guy? It is a distraction and will only add to the pressure surrounding the team.
If they are getting in front of it it really, really is probably something bad. Because you don’t leak to get in front of him steal pens from the supple room.
Who knows if the leak is really legit / non-sensationalized. But if it’s not it’s something sketchy. It just has to be. Something that has potential organizational impact that you’d risk putting out crap like this just to try to set some kind of floor.

If he provided a fake card to the team, that would seem to be more of a team issue, because also isn't the team held to different parameters when it comes to suspending players/coaches than the league? I can't remember exactly, but I believe the league is more constrained by how long they can suspend people. Maybe, if this is the case, the league views the C's dealing with it is the best outcome. If it is drug use I would think they would handle it differently. Ime has an issue and it going to take some time off to get some help. Suspension for drug use seems like a poor choice.

My bet is forged vaxx cards, but that leads to tricky relations north of the boarder, for the whole team potentially. Is all of this drug speculation coming from anywhere in particular? Does he have a history or are there rumors? I'm not sure what the penalty would be, but gosh, drug use would kind of be a relief for me, in terms of him being able to save face and maintain the respect of the team.
