He is truly the voice of the idiot

I forget who was on the mound but he was pumping in fastballs and Harold goes, "That's a real 98", as if there has ever been a soft 98 mph fastball.
EDIT: It might have been Betances.
http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/10/harold-reynolds-says-canadians-dont-play-baseball-angers-an-entire-countryBaseball broadcaster Harold Reynolds has done the near impossible hes managed to make Canadians very, very upset.
During Sunday nights broadcast on Fox Sports of Game 3 of the ALDS between the Toronto Blue Jays and Texas Rangers, Reynolds made the following quip about Americas neighbors to the North when discussing foul balls going into the crowd.
Theres not a lot of people who grew up playing baseball in Canada. They arent used to catching balls in the stands.
Oh yes. He went there.
@ShiDavidi: Just spoke with Harold Reynolds, plans to address Canada quip during broadcast today. "I'm sorry I upset everybody in Canada."LogansDad said:If pissing off Canada is what finally gets him fired, that would be glorious. But I doubt it.
Canadians have the same attitude about Americans playing hockey, so it's pretty funny.LogansDad said:If pissing off Canada is what finally gets him fired, that would be glorious. But I doubt it.
Because he's not all that wrong...soxhop411 said:http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/10/harold-reynolds-says-canadians-dont-play-baseball-angers-an-entire-country
this man still has a job because?????
If the other announcers/commentators corrected everything he said that was stupid, that's all they'd get to say.minischwab said:Did anyone catch HR discussing Stroman starting on "short rest" in Game 5 tonight? And NO ONE corrected him! He started Game 2 on October 9. Game 5 is Oct. 14. That's 4 days rest. Guess the Canadian exchange rate confuses Harold too.
We only have to wait until 2022 until the World Series could be on a different station.HriniakPosterChild said:This WS with HR has made me realize how underrated Joe Morgan was as a broadcaster.

Every year since 1989 we have had to endure either HR, Tim McCarver or Joe Morgan in the booth.

1988 was Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola.
I would take a social disease over HR.soxhop411 said:I would take Tim McCarver back over HR
DrewDawg said:I'm pretty sure Harold Reynolds said last night, when the game was 7-1, that the runner from 3B didn't attempt to score on an infield grounder as a sign of respect for the Mets. I've never heard it phrased that way.
He's also said that the way a hitter got out of the way of a pitch showed the pitcher that the hitter was right on him, and he also said that the way deGrom nodded his head after unintentionally intentionally walking a hitter means he's all business.
Maybe that's just phrased that way because Fox uses regional coverage with multiple broadcast teams during the season? Smoltz and Buck would be the #1 team in regular season and the only team for the WS.The article says Smoltz will join Buck in the booth for the WS but it's kind of vague about regular Sat. broadcasts. It's for both, right? Please?
He brought good information every time he chimed in, but I thought Verducci generally sounded a little weak, or said something I already knew. Still, I hope it wasn't a case of "while we're at it, let's can this guy too". Verducci is a strong baseball man, but maybe just not a TV guy.Am I the only one here who is slightly disappointed that Verducci got canned too? Don't get me wrong I'm overjoyed that Harold Reynolds got wacked but in my opinion I thought Verducci was decent. If he's the price of getting rid of HR then so be it. Would a 3 man booth of Buck Smoltz and Verducci been any good? I'm normally not in favor of 3 man booths but I think that combo might have clicked. Guess we'll never know..
I'm with you. If he was the necessary collateral damage, then so be it. But I enjoyed him during the telecasts.Am I the only one here who is slightly disappointed that Verducci got canned too?
