Good points.  And I'm not criticizing Hanley, just saying that with that many strides while looking at the ball, I was a little surprised it hit him.  Initially I thought he just wasn't looking back, which you often see when this type of play happens.  
 
I just want to point out that he did not take 4 steps while watching the ball in flight. He took four steps while watching the pitch being delivered. Contact was made after his 6th step, by which point he was looking at second base, not home, and he was struck a little more than a second after that. The stills are not all from after the pitch has been delivered.

Hanley going back to Boston for a MRI, since he is not recovering quickly.  This is a very bad sign, and that along with the Pedey injury might encourage the RS to throw the towel in earlier.

This is the trouble with Hanley.  Just hard to keep the guy on the field.  I don't think he's milking this by any means but the sad fact is he's someone you basically pencil in for 40 missed games a year, making his salary look even more expensive.  Crap luck on this particular instance though, to say the least.
