Sounded like he was ambulating at least? I caught almost no info on the broadcast.Stevenson was a game-changer. Hope he’s not hurt-hurt.
You left someone out, I think.Barmore
Judon
Collins
This plus I thought the interior OL guys held up pretty well. Wynn otoh…JCJ
Barmore
Collins
Bolden
Jacksonville Jaguars
I heard a distinguished physician by the name of Dr. Archibald “Moonlight” Graham made the call...JCJ and whoever on the Carolina medical staff cleared Darnold to play.
Jones was 11/12 with 120 yards in the first half and then it really wasn't prudent to be throwing the ball much after that. I thought the pass game was perfectly fine.Team win although the pass game didn’t do them many favors…
Edit: That pass TD to Henry seemed big at the time though.
"There's a player down..." Um..who is it please?Defense gets the game ball.
Game goats in no particular order:
-The CBS announcing team who were just plain terrible, even if you factor out all their errors.
A pick, a strip sack, and another sack in 14 first-half dropbacks though ... that's pretty bad, even if the per-play efficiency you quoted looks good. And they were 1 of 5 in the second half.Jones was 11/12 with 120 yards in the first half and then it really wasn't prudent to be throwing the ball much after that. Whoa. Is that the most praise he’s ever bestowed a player on the team during the season?Belichick praises a rookie???
@MikeReiss
Bill Belichick on Christian Barmore: “I gotta give that kid a lot of credit. He comes in early. Stays late. Works on his flexibility. His strength. His technique. He’s really applied himself. He’s done better and better every week.”

Holy shit. Greg Gumbel is 75. My Dad is 75. I would never trust my Dad to talk about ANYTHING in a clear way about sports, despite his best intentions and relative health.Greg Gumbel is 75. He used to be good, but it might be time.
Adam Archuleta was never good. I'd rather hear Beasley Reece.
I am pretty sure he got kicked on the head (accidentally it appeared) *after* he was down on his last playSounded like he was ambulating at least? I caught almost no info on the broadcast.
Absolutely did - I was furious with CBS missing yet another key replay. The kick was unintentional, just a trip, but it was why the player (whatever his name is - it doesn't matter, right broadcast team?) was down.I am pretty sure he got kicked on the head (accidentally it appeared) *after* he was down on his last play
Agreed. Three false starts and three delays, too - some of that has to be on the QB and the staff.A pick, a strip sack, and another sack in 14 first-half dropbacks though ... that's pretty bad, even if the per-play efficiency you quoted looks good. And they were 1 of 5 in the second half.
Per play efficiency wasn't great as well. They basically had a 41 yard dumpoff and that was pretty much it for the passing game. I legitimately thought we'd stop talking about completion percentage as an indication of passing game success after Cam completed 68.7% of his throws last year, but I guess we're not there yet.A pick, a strip sack, and another sack in 14 first-half dropbacks though ... that's pretty bad, even if the per-play efficiency you quoted looks good. Guy can really play and is a force in the middle. Full credit for BB the GM for trading up to get him. Between Jones, Barmore and Stevenson the 2021 NFL Draft really shaping up to be a winner. Ronnie Perkins though is currently on a milk carton somewhere.I just want to say I'm completely sold on Christian Barmore. The kid is an animal and has completely transformed this defensive line. I think he impacted the game more than any other defensive player yesterday.
If Mac is good (and I'm on the minority in this board that believes that's still very much in question at this early juncture), then the rest of the draft doesn't even matter, it's a home run. To get a guy like Barmore on top just makes it special.Guy can really play and is a force in the middle. Full credit for BB the GM for trading up to get him. I don’t think too many posters are convinced Mac is destined for greatness or anything. And I think the “best of the batch” comparisons against other rookie QBs do him no favors – who is a complete package their first year out of college? But he has flashed some great decision making, he has made some great throws and he seems to be a very good fit for this offensive system. If Mac is good (and I'm on the minority in this board that believes that's still very much in question at this early juncture), then the rest of the draft doesn't even matter, it's a home run. Oh, I'm not talking about being destined for greatness, I'm saying I'm not convinced he's a solid starting QB yet. I think he has displayed enough traits to convince me he can play at the NFL level (and I have my doubts on that front with every other rookie that's not Lawrence), but I haven't seen enough to state definitively he'll be better than, say, Daniel Jones.I don’t think too many posters are convinced Mac is destined for greatness or anything. Now, if he can get the pre-snap protection stuff squared away—I’m inclined to think a lot of their sloppiness is on Mac still learning this stuff on the job—then yes, I think he’ll be good. How good I don’t know, but good. And maybe very good.
What are your main concerns with Jones if you are going to be this meh on him?Oh, I'm not talking about being destined for greatness, I'm saying I'm not convinced he's a solid starting QB yet. Yup. Really is annoying they couldn’t work it out with Gilmore. This unit is really starting to gel.Defense up to 4th in overall EPA. 4th in pass defense, 7th in rush defense. Yeah, it was Sam Darnold, and he's terrible, but they basically pitched a shutout if not for turnovers setting them up in a couple bad spots.
EDIT: the drive chart for CAR is hilarious:
3 plays, 1 yard, punt
5 plays, 6 yards, punt
7 plays, 12 yards, FG
3 plays, 3 yards, punt
6 plays, 3 yards, FG
1 play, 5 yards, halftime
3 plays, 4 yards, punt
8 plays, 64 yards, interception (returned for TD)
6 plays, 22 yards, interception
8 plays, 61 yards, interception
9 plays, 14 yards, downs
The only drives they gained even 20 yards ended in turnovers.
If you had to win a game right now and you could choose Mac or Daniel are you saying you'd have to think about it?), but I haven't seen enough to state definitively he'll be better than, say, Daniel Jones.
