Trae Young being able to get absolutely anything he wants any time he wants it (logo 3, open step back 3, mid range jumper, floater in the paint) is rough, even if he can be one of the best offensive players in the league. Celtics are just gonna keep leaving Hawks open for 3 all night, gotta hope they miss.

Better last couple minutes even if the score didn't really reflect it.

I just don't know defensively - Hawks shooting 50%, 39% on threes neither of which is outrageous. But feels a lot worse than that.

I kind of wonder if the need to worry less about Trae, honestly...don't let him be a passer and win the other four matchups and the boards. If he really can pull a Butler so be it, but they seem to have made it a lot easier for the other guys too and that ain't working.

Did better on the shooting possession thing after the first quarter. Shot quality favors Atlanta. We've had a few too many long twos and purposeless offensive possessions.

We aren't exactly mixing up these PnR coverages. It's the same fucking look every time.

And it's a look that ends up with Rob or Al picking up a guard with the ball at the arc after a screen and switch.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Throw a fucking zone at them for a couple of possessions. Try fucking something else.

Yeah, and Trae is eating the big alive on the switch pretty consistently. Al can't stay with Trae and can't bother his shot; TL can, but looks off. I wonder if you try Grant on the big and switch him to Trae---that may have been the theory on him coming in, though don't think we saw it happen

I don't think we have a coaching advantage this series. I like CJM but he's pretty inexperienced for this situation. Hope I'm proven wrong---as series has gone on the Hawks have adjusted and created better matchups while covering up Trae defensively. Celts need an answer at defensive end.

Since this is a game thread. I'm voting for any politician that runs on a Truth in Ticket Pricing platform. Spent $19.95/each on top of the ticket price to see the Sox, tomorrow.

Ticketmaster charged $11/each on $23 seats for the Maine Mariners, earlier this year.

The Hawks seem younger and fresher.
Even the younger Celts look slower and older.
Don't think we can out run and outgun them.
We just have to play smarter to win.

Yeah. That’s pretty much it. Hawks are doing a really good job setting multiple screens for Trae too. Celts are really struggling with it and are in a a tough place. Leave people wide open or let Trae get easy baskets.

Atlanta is scoring at will. We are likely getting a G7 if the Cs don't adjust unless the plan is to gun it out with Trae and see what happens.

Can we please stop sending help from the strong side corner on penetrations.

I think Horford has to sit. He's just too slow to operate against this offense. I'd rather see Grant and risk the boards

Yeah, no idea what DWhite was doing there. Jaylen had Murray pinned on his left hand, and in good position, and White sucks down and leaves a wide open corner 3 as the clock expires.

IIRC they actually overruled a call entirely against Smart with similar foot under contact?

Al Horford is absolutely useless. It makes me sad to say that but he shouldn’t be out tnere

Al horford needs to come off the floor. They need to experiment with a JT, JB, Smart, Brogdon and White lineup. I don't know how they could guard that 5 and ATL's strength is not pounding it inside, which I think they would try to do.

They really shouldn’t have reviewed that. Once they did they basically had to call it a flagrant, but that rule is really about protecting true jump shooters, not what Trae was doing there.

That is a really awful call, especially so since they did not give Smart the exact same call the other night.
