They were jawing a little when they were on the bench right before they fought.Pretty sure they decided on it before they got on the ice.
This arena was fucking empty at this point last game, and it will be that way the moment this garbage franchise misses the playoffs again.

Yeah I saw that. They were jawing and Pasta turned to Monty and said something, and Monty made a face and leaned in probably saying something along the lines of "you wanna do what?"
I’d be more concerned if he didn’t face as many shots in the game as Swayman faced in the second alone.
As confident as a goalie can get while the other team hasn’t had the puck in two periods.
I know people don’t think offense is an issue but it is. Luckily survived last series after getting shut down for an extended amount of time but they won’t be able to survive that this series. Hope game 3 is different but am a bit worried. Florida is real good.
I can maybe agree with you about the 3rd period. They got completely dominated in the 2nd and that had very little to do with the refs.
Need to come out firing Friday night in front of a hopefully very boisterous home crowd. Win all three periods in Game 3. Let’s fucking go.
Yeah, you're right, they got outworked in the second.. I thought there were a lot more penalties than there were.. the game was ridiculously disjointed.
Just flush it. Evenly matched series and we took 1 on the road. Go get ‘em at home. Nothing else to hope for.
Played like crap for 40 minutes and got the appropriate result. Still only counts for one. Show up for 60 on Friday and let’s see what happens.
The fact that Maroon, a guy brought in to give the Bruins some heft and grit for these types of games, got a game misconduct for nothing goes to show why everyone pining for the Bruins to get more of those players shows how the NHL won't let the Bruins play a game like the Panthers play... and thus it is a fools errand to keep pining for it.
Neely needs to develop a better relationship with the league office. Been saying that for years.
They played horrible, but it is 1 game. They weren’t going to sweep the series and I think a 1-1 split in Florida is something most people would have taken before the series started.
Shit game, but I’d rather lose like that than the way Edmonton did last night blowing a 4-1 lead.

I mean that whole mess last night was pretty despicable -- the Bruins seemed gassed, they got screwed on non-calls that directly lead to two goals and then the administration of penalties overall was pretty weak. And they didn't help themselves at all by playing so lethargically/ without attention to detail even while they were still in it, fucking themselves especially with a last second goal in the second there.
I just hope Pasta and Charlie are not struggling with loud noises and bright rooms.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. The narritive has been around for years that they are soft, get pushed around and there's never a response. He tells Pasta no, and Pasta skates away while Tkachuk mocks him or does whatever and they get roasted. He says yes and people are going to say he's a dumbass for putting Pasta in harms way.
Pasta's a big boy and knows how to protect himself. The message it sends to the rest of the group is worth the injury risk. Bergeron did it very rarely but it was always effective, this probably falls in the same boat. I'm guessing Monty told him to go down quick.
FWIW, Pasta said he didn't ask Monty for permission. He said he told Monty he was going the ice and that was it.
I'm no Jomboy or anything but it looks like Monty is saying "Tkachuk wants to go? You want to go?" <nods>
Edit - Pasta did everyone a favor because Tkachuk was just going to be a douche for the rest of the game anyway. May as well get him off the ice.
