Unless I'm misreading it, he's got at least 8 more home runs to right field vs what he hit at Kaufman. That's pretty significant by itself, but he's got a bunch to left field too.Is it? That doesn't look like he uses the porch much at all honestly.
Yes. But donning the Pinstripes adds 20 feet of distance to fly balls, and 45 feet of distance to throws from noodle arm outfielders. It's scientifically proved ®The white is the warning track.

That article has some interesting nuggets about Ortiz and Pedroia:Papelbon keeping busy in his garden these days.
https://www.audacy.com/weei/sports/red-sox/jonathan-papelbon-used-cannabis-after-pain-pills-withdrawal
“Back when I played, I tried to really explain to him the benefits of it,” Papelbon said (12:45 in player above). “When you are under that much stress and under that much travel and you’re grinding your teeth away at night.
“I tried to get (Ortiz) to understand that when you can recover quicker, you’re gonna be better for the next day. I tried to always explain that to him, man. Early on in his career, all he would say is ‘You crazy a– white dude. You redneck crazy, man!’”
“Early on in my career when the doctors really weren’t getting evaluated and looked at and checked upon, pain pills out the wazoo,” he said. “No good, bro. I’ve been down that road. That is a horrible road to go down. I felt like every offseason I was in withdrawal when the season was over. This is a terrible thing. With cannabis there is none of that.”
Papelbon said he switched over from pain pills to cannabis about halfway through his career, around 2009 or 2010.
“I started to realize that this train couldn’t stay on the tracks. Ambien at night – Pedroia will tell you about Ambien, that guy will take an Ambien and lose his mind,” Papelbon said. “Look, cannabis has been on this Earth for as long as anybody can remember. It’s an all natural thing.”
Good for him. He's had success there, he's getting paid; I hope he's happy and keeps pitching well as long as he can.Daniel Bard is rumored to have signed a 2-yr $19M extension with the Rockies, which is weird given that he's one of the top relievers on the trade market.

Does the sucking start when he breaks .200 on his BA, .600 on OPS, or hits his first homer? This is his 2022 spray chart with Toilet Bowl dimensions. Yeah, this is gonna suck...
Lol fair. Should've stuck with Gallo.Does the sucking start when he breaks .200 on his BA, .600 on OPS, or hits his first homer?
I always kinda thought Papelbon was an idiot, but good for him; speaking honestly about cannabis and the downside of pharmaceuticals. That article has some interesting nuggets about Ortiz and Pedroia:
Shame he couldn’t ever keep himself on the field with us. When he was able to play he was awesome.Jed Lowrie DFA'd https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/08/as-designate-jed-lowrie-select-cal-stevenson.html
He had a nice bounce back last year after a couple of injury-plagued years, but it looks like that was the last hurrah. He's struggled this year at age 38.
He was a doubles machine. .142 ISO in 2008 despite hitting only 2 home runs (25 doubles and 3 triples on 67 hits)Shame he couldn’t ever keep himself on the field with us. When he was able to play he was awesome.
He has somehow been worse than Gallo. That's amazing honestly.Embedded Red Sox Andrew Benintendi just barely misses catching it.
JBJ would’ve had ithttps://bdata-producedclips.mlb.com/5cc5d7c1-a4f7-4779-ba55-7060be47ab6c.mp4
JBJ hits a 2 run double for the Blue Jays off Gerrit Cole. Embedded Red Sox Andrew Benintendi just barely misses catching it.
You know the league average OPS this year is .707 right?10D has been terrible on the Yanks. Not sure if it's been discussed a lot here
Batting a cool .212 with 1 HR and a .719 OPS at Yankee Stadium (I don't know B-R well enough to get the splits of him at home, while on the Yankees, so I just went with his #s at the Toilet)
Overall on the Yanks batting .239 with a .698 OPS
Sure seems like another cautionary tale against signing pitchers to long-term contracts on the wrong side of 30. Over his 7y/$210m contract, looks like he pitched about 700 innings after pitching about 1500 innings in the 7 seasons prior.
It was a reference to the Eckersley/Price feud.I have no idea what this means
He also signed a 2 year, $19 million extension. He got his money after all these years and I couldn't be happier for him.Daniel Bard pitched 2 innings with 6ks for his 33rd save. He's 1.82 era and 0.99 whip with 69k in 59ip on the year. In Colorado! Amazing.
