Price's last 3 starts in the 2018 postseason were extremely good and sealed the juggernaut team for us, at a time when Sale's health faltered at that. He also was a solid #2 overall that stabilized the "5 aces" staff when we needed it in 2016.

I didn't hate him like others did, but I thought it was a head-scratcher at the time. But his 2018 performance cements him in Red Sox history in a wonderful way. Loved watching him pitch that year, especially in the postseason -- a sentence many probably would not have said before that season. Hope he has a successful rest of his career, especially when the Dodgers are playing the Yankees. (A man can dream, right?)

Living is Saskatchewan I don't see any MLB games, but I remembered many SODH discussions of appreciating JD in RF if you saw him live. I got to see him and it was true. He got exceptional jumps , and a ball that looked like a double off the bat would land in JD's glove as if hit right at him, or after a speedy run he would slow and casually pull it in. One game I was at he and Coco cisp both his triples. My wife, a track athlete and coach insisted JD was at least as fast, maybe faster than Coco, and praised his running form. I argued, and went to the highlights with stop watch to prove her wrong. I am not a rookie so I waited until I was in the doghouse a bit ti tell her, by the way, she was right JD Drew went 1st to 3rd way faster than Coco Crisp.

He was our best playoff pitcher in 2018 and 2017. Great team player. Lightening rod for the Boston media.

I loved Price before he came, I was so glad he did, and I hope he has nothing but success going forward. He obviously loves to compete, loves standing up for his dudes, and gives it his all - I never doubted his commitment or effort, and I was continually dismayed at the gruff he got in the press and on here.

Probably my most substantive posts on this site were about his mechanics - he's the kind of pitcher I love to watch work. I'm lucky to live in LA and get to see these two studs for a least this year, but I will miss having Price go every 5th day (or so . . .) for us.

I hated Price since the 2008 ALCS. He's always been insufferable since day one. He and Lackey are two of the hardest to root for athletes ever.

Years after he's done, the thing I'm going to remember most is his petty feud with Eck, and how small he always came up against the Yankees, not that he threw one good game in the World Series. There were lots of heroes in the World Series.

Any Red Sox fan that can’t appreciate what David Price accomplished here can kiss the fattest part of my ass. Forget the contract, your thoughts about his attitude, or his squabbles with the media. The man helped deliver a championship to this team and it’s a trophy that we wouldn’t be celebrating without his contributions.

David Price didn’t play a role in winning a title, he was one of the primary driving forces in securing it. After all of the bullshit about his lack of intestinal fortitude or how overpaid he was, the man took the mound on the brightest stage with the stakes at their peak and delivered. 6 shutout innings in Houston, 6 innings of 2 run ball in Game 2 of the World Series, and a masterful 7 innings of 1 run pitching in the clinching Game 5 on the road in LA. David Price had a legitimate argument to be the World Series MVP.

David Price will always be one of my favorite players and I have nothing but gratitude towards him for the time he spent with the Red Sox and what he accomplished here. He was brought here to help us win the World Series and he did just that.
