#DFG: Canceling the Noise

Is there any level of suspension that you would advise Tom to accept?

Stephen A says on First Take that within the next 24-48 hours the NFL will announce that Brady's 4-game suspension will be upheld

Stephen A: "I'm hearing that Tom Brady actually destroyed his cell phone."
I'm assuming Stephen A is attempting a funny. He's no stranger to putting his foot in his mouth.

That is amazing reporting. I am also hearing that Brady has been locked in BB's basement since after the SuperBowl and this is just a clone. But I don't actually know that.

Can Brady get an injunction now? or can Goodell just wait this out and uphold the four game suspension 30 minutes before the opener if he wants to?

SOSH lawyers have answered this multiple times in this thread. Brady's legal team can't file any paperwork with the courts until Goodell formally issues his ruling. The legalese that I read from this thread is that the case is not "ripe" until the arbitration appeal decision has formally completed. That can not happen until slapnuts gets off his ass.

That's reckless reporting by these clowns.
Outside of a Sox game on ESPN, I don't give that station any business. The whole network is made up of hacks. Who exactly is SAS getting this info from, Mike Francesca?

Hahahahaha, the NFL is in full attack mode before they uphold the 4 games. This is hysterical.

I remember a picture of Brady getting the Apple Watch when it came out, possible he traded in and got a new one. Big difference from destroyed.

Destroying your cell phone doesn't make texts/emails go away.
Or call records. The whole thing is really just a complete joke and outside of the NFL offices, ESPN is driving this. Between Mort and smith, they have no credibility.

Why is anyone discussing this like it's anything other than something SAS made up while he was taking a shit?

Because it will soon be the lead story on ESPN, might as well get ahead of it.

But, seriously, the NFL is at the point where the guy they have to leak something to in order to toe the company line is Screamin' A? I can't imagine they have too many friends within ESPN outside of the head honchos and maybe Polian.

Is this true of iMessage?  Does Apple store all of those for subpoena?
Apple has stated that iMessage is encrypted and they cannot decrypt, even in response to subpoena.

I thought he was saying Brady destroyed his cellphone upon being told suspension was upheld.

Also, SAS is an extremely unlikable person.

LOL, every time public sentiment starts to swing, even moderately, back to Brady, the NFL pulls a shit grenade out of its ass

And they had to troll the bottom of the barrel to find someone to leak to.

Bob Kraft doesn't have an ounce of Cuban's hubris or balls.
Also SAS did not go after Kraft but Broussard went after Cuban.

So, crappy joke/analogy.

I guess I can understand why someone would lock the thread for a minute to, like, get people to think for a second before posting, but you can also totally see why people would get pissed about SAS tweeting something like that. Yes, he's Stephen A Smith and WE know not to take him seriously. But there are millions of people who don't and seeing as this ENTIRE debacle was caused by members of the media tweeting out of their asses, one more thing from anyone with a verified twitter account seems, to me, to be worthy of throwing your hands up in the air in exasperation.

I was always under the impression that providers only have the to/from records for texts, not the actual substance.
They store the substance of texts for a time period ranging from six months to two years depending on the provider.

It would be something if a source in the league office leaked this to Stephen A to create a parallel between Brady and Hernandez.

/tinfoil hat

Edit:

Added italics, because this was - in absolutely no way - a serious suggestion.  It is Area 51 stuff.  Apparently, "/tinfoil hat" was not clear enough.  Carry on.

I just heard the Stephen A Smith rationale (he heard) on Brady/penalty to be upheld/cellphone destruction/Spygate/BB was going to be banned

Wow

how much additional idiocy can the NFL give him to string together?

this is going to get funner
