#DFG: Canceling the Noise

Is there any level of suspension that you would advise Tom to accept?

I find this hard to believe. Why would he have a specific number like 12.5 that he likes? If he can't tell the difference, how does he like that specific number? Seems pretty convenient that someone who can't tell the difference between 10.5 and 13.5 said he likes the exact number at the bottom of the acceptable range.

I don't find this post hard to believe at all.

Brunell says he practiced for three days before being given balls by the equipment manager and if he didn't like them enough the equipment manager would brush them up. Only problem: Brunell was pretty much out of the league by the time it became legal to brush up the balls.

All well and good right now, but Brady is 100% fucked if any evidence comes out that it was ISIS that doctored the footballs.

So basically...

"He could have difused it by saying he didn't do anything wrong, or he should have said he did it wrong and apologized to please everyone."

So...I think Brady is full of shit. I also really, really, really hope facts don't come out contrary to Brady's statement.

Whichever ballboy was tasked with deflating those balls is lying dead in Aaron Hernandez's safe house right now.

anyone who has ever analyzed a person answering questions would say 1) Brady is lying 2) he's guilty 3) and he probably killed Hoffa as well

Realization for Pats fans: Brady is now guilty in minds of most fans and media. That won't change before the Super Bowl. Performance today in this presser and BB throwing him the lead on this cements that. Just hope it doesn't impact his performance on the field.

The NFL is fucked on this. They have no proof. The actual issue is minor anyway. And the Cheatriots are involved. There is no way out of this for Roger.

It's funny how the reporters (Schefter et al) are all rational, measured, etc. But all the ex-players are supremely butthurt.

Embrace the hate, fellas. It ain't stopping anytime soon.

What? Are you saying most fans and media thought he was innocent before?

See Tom is a better man than me. If I had to respond to Borges' questions I would have asked him why he couldn't tell the difference between the stuff he wrote and the stuff he plagiarized.

It's amazing that everyone who is so outraged at this is ripping the Pats while the people who are going to dole out the punishment the NFL haven't even talked to Brady .....

It sure was, you'll just have to wait for the transcript. Your whole point is dumb anyway since he said he has no idea what happened. That answers it right there. He clearly denied having knowledge about what happened or having played a role in it at all, which is clearly an implicit denial of any specific question you wanted them to ask.

And Kraft is a strong supporter of Goodell. I am 100% confident Goodell basically has no clue what to do and is hoping he lucks into a solution.

The most surprising thing about the interview to me is the NFL hasn't bothered in talking to him yet, four days later.

This is our best insight yet that they're treating it basically like a procedural matter (Minnesota, et al).  I'm now 95% convinced that the silence on their end is entirely a 'this is great f'ing coverage' thing.

This article on ESPN: http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=12211433 is reading interesting.

---------
The league found earlier this week that 11 of the New England Patriots' 12 game balls were significantly underinflated during the AFC Championship Game, ESPN's Chris Mortensen has reported. In that game, the Patriots' equipment staff supplied balls to referee Walt Anderson at the required two hours, 15 minutes before the game for inspection. As per NFL policy, Anderson marked each ball with his approval and ultimately returned them to the Patriots' ball boys.
---------

Notice it doesn't state that Anderson tested/weighed the balls prior to the game?
I did. And older ESPN stories states that he did weigh them, so this omission is important.

Far from any road.
I wish I had seen one banker grilled publicly like that in the last 10 years as a guy who used a ball in a game that was the weight of a dollar bill lighter than normal.

Why are you watching ESPN in the first place. You can get your sporting news from a multitude of better sources on the internet.

It really is the best way to live. It's too easy to seek out what you actually want to see to waste any time with garbage programming. You won't miss it.

One thing's for sure. I'd hate to be the scout team at practice the next few days. This team's going to be fucking hitting anything that moves on a football field.

Sans Brady admitting he deflated footballs, he was going to get railed for being a liar. Now let's just see what the NFL says. Maybe one day they'll get around to speaking with Brady.

Goal here: to establish that Tom Brady was lying, and Belichick was telling the truth. All the crying Brunells and Bettises in the world won't change that.

Mission accomplished.

Why are these people nearly crying on live television, calling a grown man a liar when we have absolutely no evidence of what has transpired? Also, given how Belichick immediately owned up to "Spygate", I'm pretty sure the Pats wouldn't try to make a circus of this if they knew what went on.
