Game is over and officials jurisdiction is over once the ball hits the ground. If he were to punch him in the face it becomes a police matter only.Question for @CFB_Rules
Last play of the Michigan-Illinois game @3:10 here

Incomplete pass. Game over. Not a full shot on the video but Michigan DB stares down Illinois WR, I thought he said something maybe motioned. Did he risk a taunting penalty there and another play for Illinois, or was the game over when the ball touched the ground?
So...he'll prepare his team better?Throwing bombs up 25 with 4 minutes to go. Heupel will remember this next year.
Butch Davis at Tennessee?Whoosh when was the last time Tennessee gave up 60+? I don’t think even Butch Davis ever had a train run on him like that.
Butch Jones. My mistake. Can’t always tell my Butches from one another.Butch Davis at Tennessee?
Gotcha. I should have figured that out, but I have a Butch problem as well.Butch Jones. My mistake. Can’t always tell my Butches from one another.
Well Heupel is a land thief through and through so not sure that’s to be unexpected. That's chicken shit
USC is going to beat ND and get in.So uh... Alabama sneaks in? Again?![]()
It's a hell of a football game.Good lord these are all like two- and three-play TD drives. What is going on out there in LA?
I need 54-50 PAC games and 9-6 SEC slogfests. So dumb it's all getting blown up.It's a hell of a football game.

That was a sick pick.Clark Phillips the III is a certifiable pro at CB for Utah.
That usually only happens in the tunnel, but thank you. Michigan fan but hate to see that crap, and in the moment I was sweating it out.Game is over and officials jurisdiction is over once the ball hits the ground. If he were to punch him in the face it becomes a police matter only.
Would love to hear a firsthand account if you were there today. (Not that you said you were.)
Sorry for the delay Mauf. Yes, I was there. Make it a point to get up to a game every fall. There is a wonderful way to do it - the Seastreak ferry leaves from Pier 11 in FiDi, Manhattan at 8:45am on home game Saturdays, it’s a 1hr45min cruise up the Hudson River, they dock at the West Point marina, ferry ticket comes with a game ticket, and then 45 min after the game ends, the ferry departs back for Manhattan and you’re back by like 5:30pm. Awesome in September when it’s warm, great in October with the foliage, less awesome in November given the weather but it’s football so ooh rah. There is also a bar on the ferry that is open for both the trip there and the return trip. Great fun. The ferry actually starts in NJ so one can board there as well.I was there on the UConn sideline. Incredibly fun environment. My first time at West Point. Loved the pageantry.
Chilly though. Pretty cold there. UConn dominated the first quarter, first half, really, but Army opened the scoring on a punt block for a TD on UConn's first possession. UConn had two TDs called back by replay, putting the ball at the one inch line on both occasions. In neither case did UConn put it in the end zone, which cost them dearly.
Army just runs a funky offense that is hard to prepare for and is hard to defend. They only run. They had 34 points and 300+ yards of offense and ZERO passing yards. Not a single pass completion. UConn killed themselves with penalties - especially false starts due to Army shifting the DL just before the snap. There was also a hugely questionable DPI call in the second half that proved pivotal. But once Army found a way to run the ball, it was so hard for UConn to stop them.
Thanks for the account. Sounds like an awesome day!Sorry for the delay Mauf. Yes, I was there. Make it a point to get up to a game every fall. Agree with BJ - pageantry is great, and the whole campus supports the functioning of the game - cadets are taking tickets, running concessions, security, etc. There are like 3 West Point bands. If you can get there earlier, 3 hours before kickoff is the cadet parade on the drill field. The team takes the field led by Blackhawk helicopters doing a flyover. Like literally timed such the the team follows the choppers out the tunnel. Oh and the Airborne-bound cadets do a parachute into the stadium. It’s rad.
I expected UCONN to run away with it given respective records, but despite Army having zero passing yards, they just grind away 4 yards at a time. In this game, they got lucky with some special teams and turnovers. Army defenders had 2 receptions vs 0 for their WRs haha.
Anyway, the 2023 Army home schedule is already up — if anyone has any reason to be in NY area in the fall, making it up to West Point is a great way to spend a day and you’re back in the city (or the suburbs) for dinner.
