The ratings will be great regardless. The committee screwed up by getting greedy. Ohio State Michigan then B1G vs Georgia title game would do much better ratings then TCU Georgia.
Georgia is going to roll them. They’ve spotted a talented Ohio State team 14 and are about to erase it in a second
Does it really matter? Heck if TV ratings , and or setting up the best possible title game was most important here, they would have screwed OSU over and put Bama inThe committee screwed up by getting greedy. “only illegal if it gets called”Riverboat Ryan
Which is rare on those types of plays. Happens all the time and never gets called.“only illegal if it gets called”
Maybe Texas in the year a playoff game is at the Cotton Bowl.Does any other major program have as much of a potential homefield advantage as Georgia? Get to play in Atlanta for the SEC championship and then a possible playoff game. USC maybe for the Rose Bowl, but I think the PAC championship rotates and is N/A with their move to Big 10.
The Arena football people used to say 'Forget about the touchdowns. Those are expected. Pay attention to the stops. Those are everything. Those are the highlights'College football is so much more wide open than the NFL. Stops are kind of theoretical.
It’s not that big of an advantage against other SEC schools or many ACC schools.Does any other major program have as much of a potential homefield advantage as Georgia? This is why I have a strong preference for the NFL. I also assume why many love CollegeThe Arena football people used to say 'Forget about the touchdowns. Those are expected. Pay attention to the stops. Those are everything. Those are the highlights'
The more I watch college football, the more true this is.
What's funny is TCU had 15 possessions, Michigan had 9 stops for no points, and really 10 stops if you include the FG (which was a 3 and out). TCU only scored TD on 5 drivesThe Arena football people used to say 'Forget about the touchdowns. Those are expected. Pay attention to the stops. Those are everything. Those are the highlights'

Interesting. I've never experienced football down there so I just assumed the Georgia folks would end up with 70%+ of the tickets once they hit the resale market. It’s not that big of an advantage against other SEC schools or many ACC schools.
Miami when they were good in Orange Bowl was closer to campus I think but a similar thing. This is kind of like LSU in the Sugar Bowl.

USC also has SoFi (location of the title game) , Rose Bowl, and the Vegas stadium all pretty close to campus. SoFi and the Raiders stadium will host quite a few title games in the future.Does any other major program have as much of a potential homefield advantage as Georgia? Same with me. I get the appeal for this kind of game but I just prefer the NFL and better defenses. This is why I have a strong preference for the NFL. I also assume why many love College
College scores are inflated because there are a ton more plays due to timing and offense differences. Average NFL game has 150 some plays, B12 is something like 200 plays. You’re going to have more points.Same with me. I get the appeal for this kind of game but I just prefer the NFL and better defenses.
Alabama or Ole Miss or Auburn in the Sugar (against non-SEC or your guys) is the same thingIt’s not that big of an advantage against other SEC schools or many ACC schools.

They don't also get the conference championship guaranteed in their backyard was more my point. At least as far as I can tell. Sounds like it's a non-issue though - take that, Rams & Chargers fans!Alabama or Ole Miss or Auburn in the Sugar (against non-SEC or your guys) is the same thing
Man, people just keep taking the mental shortcut of SEC Uber Alles despite all the evidence in front of their nosesThe turf and OSU ain't enough to stop UGA. TCU is fucked.
