Between Radja and Vrankovic those Celtics locker rooms must have smelled like shit!

I see Yabusele's game as being more Big Baby than Draymond.
Radja was close to a 7 footer with an advanced post game. He was a legit scorer. He was a wily vet rather than an explosive athlete, though he was not a bad athlete.Reminds me of Dino Radja. Close in height and same weight
Muggsy Bogues. Can we amass Jaylen Brown comparisons in a handy table format? So far, I'm seeing: Paul Pierce, Andre Iguodala, James Young, Tracy McGrady, Jimmy Butler... Who am I missing? Can we get a Pippen comparison? Georghe Muresan?
One other encouraging sign about JB - in the second half (the only 1/2 I got to watch), he was switched onto Kyrie a couple of times and did as good a job as anyone on the Cs in staying in front of him and making Kyrie pass the ball.
Great game from Jaylen Brown last night. Things that really stand out to me are
1) he definitely looks like a rookie, roaming with half an idea of where he is supposed to be. This is especially evident on defense.
2) The dude has some strong takes to the basket. He didn't really blow by people - if you watch he basically gets half a step on his defenders and muscles through them at the end. I really want to point out the drive he had on Tristan Thompson which is at 2:03 in the video. Thompson is a big dude, and Brown just uses his body to move him with a nice finish.
I am very excited about his potential, provided he can get an idea of some defensive positioning.
The "roaming with half an idea of where he is supposed to be" certainly stood out early, but it was to be expected as a one-and-done rookie starting his first game against the defending champs, and tasked with guarding Lebron. He just doesn't have the experience and reps, so he's thinking rather than reacting in transition and off of screens, which was causing him to be two steps slow. Trying to man up Lebron with the Cavs moving the ball and shooting as well as they were is just a ton of information to process, but he settled in a bit.

Upside? How's this for upside: http://www.metro.us/boston/matt-burke-i-ve-seen-enough-jaylen-brown-is-the-next-kobe-bryant/zsJpjB---ftNOMcy8vXwfQ/?Didn't see the game, but the box score (especially plus-minus) suggests JB was the best player on the floor for the C's last night. That's very encouraging, especially that JB was the 19-year old with upside on whom Danny rolled the dice instead of drafting a more polished player like Dunn or Hield. That decision is looking like the correct one.
Geez and I thought my Pierce upside was optimistic!!Upside? How's this for upside: http://www.metro.us/boston/matt-burke-i-ve-seen-enough-jaylen-brown-is-the-next-kobe-bryant/zsJpjB---ftNOMcy8vXwfQ/?

Brown wasn't going to see consistent rotation minutes at all if everyone was healthy from Day One. This season is part of a rookies learning curve playing behind veteran players which often is more desirable than throwing rookies into the fray unprepared. The greatest improvement a player generally makes is in their first offseason but with Brown being so young that may be pushed back to his 3rd season with a smaller leap in his second year. I wouldn't have many expectations for Brown this year aside from some glimpses here and there of what is to come which we've already got a taste of. He's still very green in understanding NBA schemes to contribute much right now.Well, no posts here since Jaylen looked great vs Cleveland. Since then he has played 11 games, averaging 13 minutes with 37/27/52% shooting. To me it seems like he's sort of getting lost in the shuffle as the main rotation guys get healthy and hasn't gotten the time to find a rhythm. But it can't be a great sign that he hasn't earned more than 7:30 playing time in 3 of the last 4 games.
It is worth noting one thing: he was on the floor during the great bench-led 4th quarter comeback against the Timberwolves. He wasn't an offensive presence in that game (no points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist), but he was second on the team at a +15 (in just 13 minutes).Well, no posts here since Jaylen looked great vs Cleveland. I'm with you on all this. Patience has to be the key with a player like this and playing a kid who isn't prepared doesn't necessarily speed up the learning curve as some tend to believe. "Development" for a kid in the NBA consists probably more during his time not playing in NBA games as he cannot apply skills to his game that he doesn't yet possess.Agree that what I am seeing the last few weeks is more in-line with my expectations (and I was high on Brown coming in), but I guess the first few flashes got me more excited than maybe was warranted.
