Smith has fit in nicely. He's never really put up huge counting stats because of limited ice time, particularly PP ice time. Since 2018/2019 he's 15th among RW in goals per 60 and 22nd in points per 60 at even strength. Puts him ahead of guys like William Nylander and Alex DeBrincat. His 0.97 goals per 60 is right behind Patrick Kane's 0.99. Pretty good company to be keeping, though you probably never would've guessed it given he's only broken 40 points once in the past 6 seasons.
Theoretically, his production him in as a first line RW on half the teams in the league. Score one for the analytics department.
