More importantly, Pervis Ellison.
Not necessarily bigs, but players of his type (super athletic rim running power forwards) drop off fast when the cliff hits. Amare Stoudemire, Shawn Kemp, now Blake Griffin...these players are good enough at their peak to sniff the top 10, but once they drop below all-star level, the end comes sooner than you'd expect.at 29, he was averaging 24.5 PPG and played in the 2019 All-Star game

Injuries and all but BIGs go bad quickly
I agree, he's not as bad as people make him out to be. He's a generally neutralish defensive player overall in the regular season, just like a lot of bench guys he gets hunted come playoff time so he won't play much. On offense his shooting is wildly hit or miss, but he's a good passer which is a key in our system. He'll be a pretty servicable vet big, who know what to do in the regular season, and that's just what you want from your veteran bench bigs.As dumb as this sounds, because he is clearly a floorbound shadow of his former self, I kind of like him for the C's. I don't expect him to play much.
If we remove contracts its a conversation, but it's not so it's Blake and its not close. Either way, as people have said recently in these parts, Blake offers more for what the Cs want out of their big guys. If they were both on minimum deals I think I'd still easily take Blake and its not a hard decision, I would take the charges and smarts over the random 3 3's Theis gameDaniel Theis or Blake Griffin? Theis sure seems like he'd look pretty good right now. Not nearly as good as Brogdon, but still.
I am/was a Theis fan, but he was not the same guy last year that he was in 19-20 and 20-21. Looked like he had lost half a step that he could not afford to lose.Daniel Theis or Blake Griffin? Theis sure seems like he'd look pretty good right now. Not nearly as good as Brogdon, but still.
I'm not convinced Blake can log big minutes and not be a disaster, so I think it depends on the role.If we remove contracts its a conversation, but it's not so it's Blake and its not close. Oh for sure, if they needed 20-25 minutes I absolutely take Theis. However, my only real concern about player minutes are for the playoffs, and if we need those kind of minutes out of either of those guys at that point the team is in troubleI'm not convinced Blake can log big minutes and not be a disaster, so I think it depends on the role.
