He's homered in 6 games in a row. The record is 8 held by Griffey Jr and a few others.Stanton goes deep again. 44 HRs now. 11 in 14 games this month. Homers in 5 in a row. Tonight he crushed one off of Madbum. He has 7 Xbh in 20 at bats vs him in his career.
*for very small values of "a few". Mattingly and Long. He's homered in 6 games in a row. The record is 8 held by Griffey Jr and a few others*.
Funny, I've been thinking that Stanton's hot streak reminds me of Sosa's 20 home run June in 1998. Since the media (and general public) no longer cares about historic home runs totals due to PEDs, I wonder how long this run will need to go before it becomes a big story.
Are there any actual restraints to where you place your fielders? Other than pitcher and catcher, can you just put the other 7 wherever you want?Did you all see Maddon put 4 outfielders out there last night vs. Votto?
I'm pretty sure it's anywhere fair territory. Are there any actual restraints to where you place your fielders? Other than pitcher and catcher, can you just put the other 7 wherever you want?
That's Treinen.Oakland over KC tonight 4-3 after 7, KC scored 5 in the top of the 8th to go up 8-4 in a game they could really use, but then Soria and Minor gave up 6 in the bottom of the inning, so 10-8 Oakland after 8. Treinen is trying to close now and is up to 28 pitches, two outs to go.
That's not.Oakland holds on, the second AL wild card continues to tighten.
Who is that throwing the ball? He looks too young to be on the 1967 team. No one wore #55 either.
In case you don't read the Sox game thread. First pitch hits camera man in the crotch.
Jimmy Fund kid Jordan Leandre, who ran the bases 10 years ago when he was first introduced to Sox fans. They said he's a pitcher on his HS team on the Cape.Who is that throwing the ball? He looks too young to be on the 1967 team. No one wore #55 either.
Don't forget about St Louis either; the Sox just did some damage but this month they've been making a strong run at first.Lester left with a lat strain in the Cubs-Reds brouhaha. I was among those who thought Chicago would pull away once it overtook Milwaukee. Might still happen, but they're not doing it now
Wow. And if he did it in like 14.10 seconds, he is probably out.Byron Buxton hits an inside the park home run ... in a record 13.85 seconds

Shock them on missed calls?'Maybe the wristbands could vibrate when it's a strike?
I don't recall it before. But it is at the A league team's stadium (Bowman) not the LLWS (Volunteer and Lamade) stadiums. The LLWs stadiums have tiny diamonds and short fences.Pirates v Cardinals tonight is in Williamsport at the LLWS facility. That's really cool and I don't remember them doing this before.
Is it new or have I been living in a hole?
I don't remember it either. Pretty cool for the little kids. Makes them feel special. They are.Pirates v Cardinals tonight is in Williamsport at the LLWS facility. That's really cool and I don't remember them doing this before.

Because Kris Bryant got drilled in the hand with a pitch. That didn't look good. Hopefully he's all right.Anthony Rizzo had to play 3b tonight. First left handed 3b in over 20 years.
Think that was on purpose? I haven't found a NY fan yet that thinks it was .......Aaaand Betances hits McCann in the head
