Nah, Perez was so tight as it was he might have missed the pitch and gotten the runner trapped off third. Then he would have struck out. If they were going to do it, it would have been with Gordon

The main point is that Yost and a perfect situation for a safety squeeze and didn't take the opportunity, but instead let two hitters pull a WMB and JBJ.  With 1 out and the fast dude on 3rd you have to take the risk.  This is a 1 game shot to get into the playoffs.  I don't understand why he just sat there here, but tried a 'trick' play earlier in the game with Butler.
