Do they still have prisoners from Walpole shovel out the stadium?

And lbr, his escape plan wouldn't exactly be brilliant or anything.

Jack Ruby had a better escape plan than whatever the hell Hernandez has been thinking.

This is almost surreal. Held without bail, charged with first degree murder. I had figured before this news, that worst case scenario had him as an accessory, not the actual triggerman. What a colossally moronic move. Anyone else just royally pissed off at this dumb ass?

Michael Fee is asking the judge to treat Hernandez like any other client, asks the judge for Hernandez to remain at home due to family situation and lack of flight risk.  Full disclosure of where he has been going.  Willing to submit to any conditions possible to return home.  Clean record, no history of violence, and a weak case.

1st degree murder charge if it wasn't clear before.

As was mentioned before this is a DA who has grand political aspirations, and this case is a career maker.  Throw that on top of the piles and piles of evidence, I only see one outcome.

So the guy "knew" he was going to get murdered ... must've been one hell of a club misunderstanding. That doesn't pass the smell test.

I was thinking the same thing...and that the rain better stay away.

Who would have thought at the end of last baseball season that we'd be relying on the Boston Red Sox on June 26 to pick us up vis-a-vis horrendous news regarding the other three teams?

Hoo-hoo-hoo hoosier land.
He better have some significant people to rat on or he's spending the rest of his life in prison. Holy shit.

Interested to hear the motive. From the evidence, it sounds like he's not only stupid but also a sociopath.

As a Dolphins' fan, I've been enjoying this Patriots off-season like Christmas. But then I'm reminded that a person's life was taken -- and that really takes the joy out of it.

23, NFL star, rich; he had life by the balls. What a f-cking moron.

He is fucking scared now.
I thought he looked like was going to laugh.  Overconfidence of a rich man who thinks millions in Lawyers can get him off. Maybe but the odds are against it in this severe a case.

Can we declare a moratorium on "Tight end in prison" jokes. Every message board covering this case has had them daily ever since this started. It's way past old already.

Well, that and the fact that the Pats are still likely to take the division by three games.

Er, he is that significant person, if his buddies wanted to avoid accessory charges.

I meant beyond this case. I'm not suggesting he does, although it would not be a shock.

My feed might be delayed, but at this point I wouldn't be shocked if they have that as well.  They have him seemingly dead to rights.

Dead to rites.  He still has rights in our judicial system.  A few, anyways.

From the perspective of a DA with this much exposure and upshot from nailing Hernandez, would witness protection be in the cards?

I don't think turning in his dealer will get him clear of first degree murder charges

That's not what I said. I said that *unless* he has someone *significant* to rat on, he's spending his life in prison. So, if he has valuable information, he might be able to avoid dying in prison. That was my point, which was clear if you had read my posts.

Well, good news is the Patriots still have better offensive talent then the crap we had in 2006 with Doug Gabriel, Troy Brown, Reche Caldwell, Jabar Gaffney and Ben Watson. That 2006 team was a missed 3rd down conversion away from the Superbowl.

It was during a point when the audio was shoddy, but I thought I heard the DA state during the bail segment that Hernandez gave his confederates the ability to leave the jurisdiction.

I wonder if all the searches "for the mirror" were really for the missing gun (or pieces thereof).  Because the actual gun involved in the shooting is now missing, right?

Based on the lawyer from wcvb's opinion, at least one of them rolled on him and both of them will be charged at the indictment.

I know I'm trying to ascribe logic and intelligence to a situation where there likely wasn't any involved, but why the hell didn't he at least get rid of the illegal firearms before the cops searched the house? You smash your phone and security system and hire a cleaning service, but don't even attempt to throw those in a river or something? Even if he somehow miraculously gets off on the murder charges, the gun charges will put him away for awhile.
