Hearing from a source that A-Rod's telling some people that "I got it" when he's really going to fool everyone with a "ha" when he takes to the podium.

Right, but this doesn't really matter, since they're trying to keep it secret. They could change it right after the press conference if they wanted, although with Austin and Judge still in Scranton, he's going to be on the roster today. Tuesday will (HOPEFULLY) be another story.

I'm still going with he retires (or at least leaves NY) after today, and they move him into today's lineup after the press conference.

Yeah, just trying to dig up any nugget of evidence. This is more fun than the announcement will probably be anyway (Even Murti doesn't have a clue what it's about)

If it's end of season, I wonder what the Red Sox will present him with on 9/18.

Regardless of what happens five minutes from now, being a Red Sox fan since 1966 and MFY hater since 1975 (in the late 60's/early to mid 70's they stunk on ice; they came back as an organization thanks to the advent of free agency), this guy is by far the most hateable Yankee ever for me and that's saying something.

My most memorable A-Rod moment is him standing on second base in game 6 of the 2004 ALCS pleading his case and doing a running motion claiming that is how the ball got knocked out, not him swiping at it with those foolish looking Mickey Mouse white oven mitts.

None of his accomplishments mean shit to me; he's a fraud who thinks his shit is ice cream.

He can't retire fast enough.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out you stooge.

Haven't we gotten to a point, socially, where this isn't something we should be using to poke fun at someone?
Eventually, as long as the current most famous person to which this applies continues to be and act like a complete horse's ass, it's going to be difficult to take all the rest seriously . Catlin ain't helping...and I say this as a gay man.

We've had some pretty despicable plays Chad Curtis, Jim Leyritz, Luis Polonia, Mel Hall etc, ARod isn't even close to those

Holy crap. Are they just transferring his remaining salary to that new contract to get it off the books for luxury tax purposes? Can they do that?

No talk about his 2017 salary, so I assume Hal decided to bite the bullet on that and free up the roster spot.

He's still going to make all that money as a "special advisor."

No one is gonna sign him. He's done.
He's retiring, he is not trying to get signed (and I agree that he probably couldn't, unless Miami decided to carry a tourist attraction with virtually no value).
