I was under the impression that Trevor Story would be alternating days at SS.

I think that's what we can expect when Turner comes back. I suspect this is both from a weather standpoint (as E5 Yaz says) and also trying to get Masa a day off (he has played 6 days in a row). If Turner was available we probably see Story at SS with him at DH.

I think this is right.
This is armchair medicine at its finest, but I'm beginning to think that Turner's handful of games at 2B somehow led to his injury. Much like Yaz's 2 games in CF in 82 led to his BA dropping 40 points in August.

Or Blake Swihart playing left field once broke him forever.

We won 4 to 3 amidst some strange events.
A light that stands between the Green Monster dents,
made a great grab on a shot out to left. Hence,
a fence that’s not solid played solid defense.
The run that this saved turned out to be immense
because the ninth inning became quite intense.
Sadly, the win did not provide recompense,
as the teams that we trail won, too, which prevents
us from gaining ground, but tonight represents
another chance, and though I’m not sure from whence
heroics will come, I have faith that our gents -
or ballpark - will win again. That’s my two cents.

Toronto loses to Cleveland…so a chance to pick up a game in WC standings. One game at a time.

Would love to see Paxton rebound a bit from the average run he’s been on as of late. A strong start from the de facto ace would be great for the series win.

So Story has struck out in three of his four at-bats each of the last two nights.

I wonder if there is some inside baseball moniker for almost golden sombrero-Ing three consecutive nights.

Did he do something to himself other than stomp on first base, which he could have done DH-ing or playing first?

Seattle has won 7 games in a row. Isn't that annoying? At least Toronto managed to lose one to Cleveland.
At this point, I wish the Sox would win more than they lose. I hope things like the Royals' buzzard luck in this series continues tonight and with all Sox opponents going forward. I'm mean that way.

Anyone else notice that the nightly SOSH outage may come exactly at the time that Trevor Story finally gets a batting average for 2023?

They would need a quick half inning, but we're still on track.

Is the server in Maui? That was a long time outage.

In other news we are missing a lot of hittable pitches tonight.

It's silly to say "ballgame" when it's 0-0 in the fourth inning, but 10 pitch lead off singles really is not what our bullpen needs right now.
