Okay, win one. Win one for the deadline; win one for mediocrity; win one to pass the time.

Oviedo, FL
Game 107
Today, my focus at work was invaded
as deadline announcements slowly cascaded,
and I watched the Red Sox to see what they did.
In the end, the farm system wasn’t raided.
None of the players I love have been traded.
No big splashy new stars who could have aided
our quest for the playoffs will be paraded
into our dugout. Does this leave me jaded?
Was it a bad choice? I’m not quite persuaded.
Time will reveal how today should be graded.
For now, let’s win games. My hope hasn’t faded.

I'm kinda bummed we still have Duvall and Arroyo and also didn't pick anyone up other than urineass

Just once I’d like for O’Brien to call a game in Seattle and not make the lame observation that Seattle’s reputation for rain must be manufactured in order to keep people away. Each time he says it as though he’s unaware that we remember the previous several hundred times he’s said it.

Now that the deadline has passed, I am hoping for Dugie to go on a tear.

You know, there was like an 8-day period last month where it really looked like Devers was starting to heat up.

I can’t stop imagining Casas saying “wassup baby all right hell yeah” to everyone who reaches base.
