How does it feel when we find the stroke? Grand!
A sixth run seventh. Our bats awoke and,
like a comic who sees every joke land,
or a chart-topping indie rock folk band,
or Adam Duval before the broke hand,
the hits kept coming! No time to choke. Stand
tall. Play the same brand of ball. Beat Oakland.

McGuire activated?

anything less than a sweep of the A’s is an embarrassment.

That's not how baseball works. By that standard, the A's have already completely humiliated the Braves by winning a series against them, and thoroughly embarrassed Tampa by beating them 2 out of 4.

They are bad, but they are major leaguers trying their hardest. They have already beaten much better teams than ours multiple times.

I immediately thought the video was in reference to 1989 and the Loma Prieta earthquake and the Nimitz Freeway (880), probably the most damaged roadway in a natural disaster. I also thought it was Earth, Wind and Fire singing. Got it all wrong. Don't take the green and gold lightly though. Kotsay has them playing better. They won 7 straight then lost 8 straight just a bit ago in June.

Marvelous, weird rhyme pattern. Lotsa fun.
As was the seventh inning of last night's game. I reckoned that after we'd declared Hernandez done and gone (me, too) he'd get a big hit.
May the "awakening" continue!

I'll be in the house tonight, the Red Sox are my main AL team, always have been, the A's are my other American League team, have always like them, first team to wear white cleats back when they were the Kansas City Athletics before they moved to Oakland in 1968.

Best uniforms in baseball.

The team itself; not so much.

Who are the other planned starters this series? The official Sox MLB site has Paxton tomorrow and TBD for Sunday. Another BP game? A sweep would be nice, especially against the worst team in the league... but the Sox rotation right now is screwed and it's gotta be exhausting the pen

Caleb Ort had grown his hair out for a year and a half, cut it off yesterday and donated it.

I don't know what to do with this information, but I don't think it makes me more excited to watch him pitch this weekend.

Cutting his hair didn't make Ralph Sampson a better pitcher.

The A’s lineup looks like the fake baseball teams from video games that didn’t have permission from MLB. Tommy Spitball. Doubles McGee. Bert Ruth.
