This team is all over the place. When they’re good it’s fire and when they’re bad it’s dumpster fire.

Anyone thinks secretly that Bloom and the Front Office hoped they would fail this last week so they didn’t have to go out and get anyone at the deadline? I know that’s conspiracy theory shit, but some of these decisions have been confusing at best.

let’s not pretend casas has been good defensively

Chang, if anything, had a better chance of making that play

regardless, not winning with this kind of offensive performance
Oh, I agree. I just think it's hilarious that Chang is playing first.
Arguably the best power hitter in the majors the last month is pinch hit for.
And a minor league pitcher comes in with a runner on second in a one run game.

I don’t get the Cora fury here. They have one fucking run, guys.
It’s putting in Jacques with a runner on second in a one-run game.

Bullpen’s cooked, sure, but if you’re gonna ride Pivetta to 104 pitches you should probably have someone more reliable coming in after him.

No chance

bloom is fighting for his job imo

fair or not, if the fanbase is frustrated and angry (and they will be with another non playoff finish), ownership will contemplate a change

This team just fucking sucks defensively

it’s my number one issue with bloom. You could tell the D was garbage coming into the season, and I don’t know why the FO doesn’t seem to care
Hard to fix it when your core players are the ones who are horrendous on defense.

part of it is on Jacques. He plunked a lousy hitting righty and then still had a chance to survive by throwing strikes to the lefty…and he walks him

sometimes an mlb pitcher needs to make some decent pitches

The Red Sox have the best record in baseball when leading after 6. Cora uses the good relievers when winning and the bad ones when losing, regardless of the deficit. This is the flip side of locking in the wins.

what? Yes.

if you don’t think bloom is under ownership scrutiny, you’re dead wrong
They’ve been the best team in baseball for over a month and part of the reason is that his plan has come to fruition. There are a lot of guys on this team who look like future cornerstones.

Bloom’s job is safe.

Oh good Turner is hurt.

there is a lot of baseball left and there are scenarios that would absolutely put bloom on the hot seat - picture this team finishing a bit below 500 or just over and being 5-6 games out (absolutely possible)

point is, there is zero chance bloom and the FO want to lose these games so they can sell
