Frustrating loss because you have the feeling this team is on the verge of another big win streak. They aren’t playing bad baseball.

So I suppose if we're going by the way this shook out last time people around here were defending a crap manager for the crap job he was doing, we have another year of intellectual pretzels and the negation of anything he's bad at as suddenly not being a manager's job to deal with before he's gone.

Two quick thoughts:

1. If Bobby got picked off there, and he may have been out, then it would have been curtains for him in Boston.

2. It was just a first impression but Caleb Martin looked like an infielder playing emergency catcher. Looked unsure catching the ball and somehow worse throwing it.

Have to hand it to Gravemann though. He got the pitches he needed to when it mattered most. Well, one was a gift.

You'd rather have Joe Jacques in there? Or Garza? This is a shit bullpen right now.
I'd rather have the guy who came in right after him pitch the next couple innings than a guy who obviously didn't have it. Bringing him in after Paxton was fine. Leaving him in for the second inning was stupid and predictable

Joe Kelly said after the game that he told the umpire he was wearing something that was cutting off his circulation and they allowed him to go take it off.

According to the internet, Cora is 0-38. The team is 41-0 when he stays out of the way.

Hey, maybe the Sox could have a contest for Fan Manager of the Day! Every entry pays a buck to enter, and the $ goes to the Jimmy Fund. It's just a pick one out of a hat deal, no qualifications necessary. I would definitely play.

Why not? What's the worst that could happen? Letting a pitcher who clearly does not have it, hasn't been particularly good all month, go out for a second inning after giving up a lead so he can promptly lose it again? There's no way any schlub off the street would do something that stupid.
