6/11: Sox vs MFY

Hmm, after noon eastern time and no game thread. I'm not a high frequency poster but feels like this is the kinda game that shouldn't require a last minute thread to get going.

Sox have been playing the Yankees tough in the first two games of the series and have a win to show for it. With Bello on the mound it feels like the future is now. Would love for one of cornerstones of the Sox' future to be a lifelong Yankee slayer. Might as well start the legacy tonight.

Let's get these bastards.

Game 66
After Friday, we thought we could embrace
the faint hope the Sox were back in the chase.
Saturday showed that may not be the case.
T’was one good game, then a quick about-face.
The Sox left eleven runners on base.
The defense displayed a deep dearth of grace.
We’re under 500 and in last place.
We’re trailing by 5 in the wild card race.
If we continue to play at this pace,
our chances will vanish without a trace.
(They’ve been going down like Linda Lovelace.)
Tonight, we pitch Bello. (Our future ace?)
We need some “water” in this cracking vase.
Let’s get a win and improve our headspace.

"deep dearth of grace"

That is cherce, as they say in NYC. You might want to copyright it before Hollywood steals it for a film title.

peteabe: Sox spent time doing team infield fundamentals before batting practice today. More group focused than their usual individual work.

Willie Calhoun really fills out his uniform. Pinstripes are not helping him.

What’s with the weird tap dance this guy does on the rubber when he delivers.
