Is Pivetta really earning a spot in the rotation more than Houck? Even before tonight it didn't seem like an obvious choice.

That was surprisingly close at the plate. Strong and accurate throw from Acuña

Checking in from just to the OF side of the Sox dugout. Tarp currently on the field. Light sprinkles. Rain chance is 50% per my app but 100% chance of a Sox victory. Chisel that in stone.
grabbed a last minute seat and sitting in the chophouse to also watch the Cs. Let’s do better and fucking win.

Morton is just nibbling the zone. Reminds me of Tanaka, lots of breaking pitches.

Charlie Morton, the ageless wonder. Making $20 MM this year at 39 years old and earning it.

Pivetta has had one quality start all year. Looking at his hard hit percentages and barrel rates, his stuff is just getting wrecked. He may just be cooked.

We're halfway through two Boston games tonight,
and nothing that our teams have done's gone right.
I sure would like some magic second halves
to turn my bitter tears back into laughs.

Most pitchers' stuff plays up in the bullpen. But yeah even this game alone he had 10 "hard hits" in 4 innings.
