Austin Meadows, taken 2 picks after Ball and someone half of the SOSH draft-geek contingent thought was a no-brainer pick for the Red Sox at #7, in the FSL: .307 / .385 / .403

I have been following Meadows closely, I was certain the Red Sox would take him. Hated the pick and Ball hasn't done anything to prove me wrong. The guy pitching for Texas tonight was taken half a round after Trey. If they take another pitcher at #7 this year, I'll be disappointed.

If the Sox hadn't struck gold in the first five rounds of that 2011 draft (Barnes, Swihart, Owens, Bradley, Betts), their decision to take Ball would be catching way more heat.
