Game 53
Have to admit that I half-watched this game.
The Sox and The Celts were on at the same
time, and the results have not gone our way
when I’ve doubled up to watch them both play.
So, I sacrificed for a worthy cause.
I started the Sox game then I pressed pause,
shifting my focus to the guys in green,
uninterrupted on a single screen,
hoping my silly superstitious tricks
might play a small role and help with game 6.
I stayed fully gripped by the epic fight
until things were tipped our way by D White.
T’was my favorite play since “Bird stole the ball.”
I watched the postgame to relive it all.
A bit after midnight, baseball resumed
and though it went well, it was kinda doomed
to feel a little anticlimactic.
A single! A bunt! (Far from dramatic.)
It still was quite fun to watch Whitlock throw.
We beat a good team. That’s two in a row!
An easy, calm win. It’s crazy to see
how different two games won by 1 can be.
