So the team has an afternoon game today in Phoenix, followed by the Sox charter back to Boston, probably arriving around 2AM EDT. A rare Monday holiday off in Boston... so how many Red Sox players/ coaches you reckon will be there for the Celtics game 7 on Monday night?

Have to admit that I half-watched this game.
The Sox and The Celts were on at the same
time, and the results have not gone our way
when I’ve doubled up to watch them both play.
So, I sacrificed for a worthy cause.
I started the Sox game then I pressed pause,
shifting my focus to the guys in green,
uninterrupted on a single screen,
hoping my silly superstitious tricks
might play a small role and help with game 6.
I stayed fully gripped by the epic fight
until things were tipped our way by D White.
T’was my favorite play since “Bird stole the ball.”
I watched the postgame to relive it all.
A bit after midnight, baseball resumed
and though it went well, it was kinda doomed
to feel a little anticlimactic.
A single! A bunt! (Far from dramatic.)
It still was quite fun to watch Whitlock throw.
We beat a good team. That’s two in a row!
An easy, calm win. It’s crazy to see
how different two games won by 1 can be.

For sure, @LynnRice75, there is the difference between the play-offs and the regular season, and also the difference in pace of the two games. I am so averse to last-moment nail-biters that I took a shower during the Jansen appearance last night. I cannot imagine the nerve-wrack that Celtics' win must have been. But then, the more leisurely pace of baseball is more my style. I've never wanted to go on a roller-coaster. Like, at all.

Anyway, wouldn't a nice, leisurely sweep hit the spot?
Geaux, Sox!

Mine is "Havlicek stole the ball Havlicek stole the ball Johnny Havlicek stole the ball" because it bailed out a rough play by the wonderful Bill Russell, and the Cs went on to win the title. I love Larry Bird too, of course.

Oh, boy. Houck was so good in his last start he exiled Kluber to the pen and grabbed a spot in the rotation. And now doesn't look terrible, but not terribly crisp.

His stuff seemed to be there but kept missing right over the plate. Carroll put a really nice swing on a pitch that was almost a ball as well.

Another taken strike 3 by a lefty on a fastball outside. Does that pitch look like not a strike or something, boys?
