Fatigue mistake. Schultz played almost 30 minutes. He’s not a 30 minute a night defenseman, and Smitty is a high motor guy and busted his ass as usual to take advantage of a mistake. He was lollygagging. You know what that makes him?

I had the same thought about 3 minutes before the goal. Would love an honest answer to a question about how much mental fatigue played into that.Whoever said that McAvoy was exhausted seems right. I'm sure a lot of players are though. Wonder how Samsonov is feeling given he's just got back on the ice.
Ovechkin's protege? He was lollygagging. You know what that makes him?
They controlled the play in period 1.
But in the OTs I just think the Bruins are simply faster and are carrying around less weight than Washington. Washington is going to get gassed faster in any game the Bruins are not punished physically. Washington has to run the Blues playbook. Harder to pull off when everyone is sucking air in OT.
Makes sense. Would like to see the Bruins get out ahead next game and make the Caps chase it a bit. A two goal lead in this series fees impossible but oh what a luxury it would be.I wonder if the bigger, stronger team is getting a wee bit tired as these games go on.
For sure. I was just making a joke at the Capitals expense. Because I don’t care for them.Fatigue mistake. Schultz played almost 30 minutes. He’s not a 30 minute a night defenseman, and Smitty is a high motor guy and busted his ass as usual to take advantage of a mistake.
he’s no KevinYou mean the fucking triple lindy that Dillon pulled?
only 20:04 for Chara, least of the d-men by 2:13. Only 5 forwards had less time. They're sheltering him big time.Fatigue mistake. Schultz played almost 30 minutes. He’s not a 30 minute a night defenseman, and Smitty is a high motor guy and busted his ass as usual to take advantage of a mistake.
If only you could run them out there even more.
Play them for 40 minutes, the 2nd line for 15, and the 3rd line for 5. Dress 8 D and 3 goalies in case we have to take a few penalties on Wilson.
28-3? Further evidence that the Caps were only in this game because they tackle more and better than the Falcons.
They do have an extra gear, they just need to use it more oftenI don’t really know how to grapple with the fact that they looked so lackluster in the 1st three periods but had the pretty clear upper hand during the OTs.
I wouldn't blame him for the miscommunication (or blame fatigue) necessarily. If fatigue played a role, maybe it was the less than sharp way he got back (or failed to get back) into goalie/alert mode. I had noticed earlier in the period there was a play where he had gone down to make a save, and as the Caps D transitioned into offense the camera showed him behind the play very slowly getting back up. That's when I started to wonder if he was spent. I don't play goalie, I don't know how heavy those pads are - or if they absorb water weight during the game the way the old ones did. Either way, 4+ periods of hockey...I had the same thought about 3 minutes before the goal. Would love an honest answer to a question about how much mental fatigue played into that.
I'll also admit that I was starting to have evil "they've dominated OT and are going to lose on a fluke goal" thoughts. Shudder.
"That's an ass play, that's a stupid ass f'g play"... or it's russian
Well done.28-3? Further evidence that the Caps were only in this game because they tackle more and better than the Falcons.
It’s the playoffs. You can’t be making dumb mistakes and expect a pat on the back for it.Great teammate you got there. Kid stops 40 shots after not playing for a while and he’s on him for an obvious fatigue-driven mistake.

Watch Ovechkin again on Debrusk's goal (video queued up to the proper spot).
He has been useless defensively thus far this series.

No pat needed. But, you know, be the captain? Don’t rip the kid to shreds publicly. Have a modicum of respect for yourself and your teammates. It’s the playoffs. You can’t be making dumb mistakes and expect a pat on the back for it.
And the Pats have themselves a new back up long-snapper.Great night - B's win, Sox win, Lakers down 13 at the half
Be the captain can mean several things to the point of being useless given we don’t know the pulse and headspace of the team and players. And I don’t think Ovi needs to work on garnering any respect from anyone, let alone himself. No pat needed. But, you know, be the captain? Don’t rip the kid to shreds publicly. Yeah, I shoulda led with thatAnd the Pats have themselves a new back up long-snapper.
If game 4 was on the west coast, I’d just about demand that the thread title be ‘don’t sleep bitch’. Give or take a ‘hall’ pun.View: https://twitter.com/SlavaMalamud/status/1395208572544462848
He is literally screaming "Don't sleep, bitch" in Russian.
I was 3/4 through an all-caps scream text to @TFPGreat teammate you got there. Kid stops 40 shots after not playing for a while and he’s on him for an obvious fatigue-driven mistake.
I was so pissed on the Pasta tackle, I was still yelling at the TV when the goal happened. Justice. Eat shit Caps.
This was a total traveshamockery, and if the refs keep it up, someone is going to get hurt.I was so pissed on the Pasta tackle, I was still yelling at the TV when the goal happened. Justice. Eat shit Caps.
I went to bed after the 1st OT.
1.) I was tired.
2.) The game obviously rested in my hands.
You’re welcome.
This deserved more love. Bravo.28-3? Further evidence that the Caps were only in this game because they tackle more and better than the Falcons.
The dude was once a -35 in a season he scored 51 goals. That seems impossible to me.If only you could run them out there even more.
In contrast, I'd like to see how much time Washington allowed Ovechkin on the ice in the OT. Seemed to me that they were really hesitant to give him big minutes since he still seems to play D like it is an optional part of the job.
