Man, that's an insanely tough 2-pointer Tatum attempted.

The answer is just that Smart is going to have to play better. Even though we got Brogdon specifically to help stop the offense from turning to shit, it’s going to be Marcus out there, probably instead of Brogdon AND White if everyone is healthy. Just have to hope he plays better.

Was there not a better option than the quick 180 degree rotation for a long 2 from the side? That seemed forced.
Tatum could have spun to his left for a shot going toward the basket.

Couldn’t agree with this more. It doesn’t give anyone any more confidence in the calls and it destroys the flow of the game.
Of all the sports, basketball is easily the least conducive to and most harmed by replay. It has never been good and will probably never be good. It’s not tennis, it’ll never be perfect with or without replay so you might as well not make it worse and slow the game down at the same time.

Things were much better when calls were made simply based on who had inside position and that sort of thing.

Sixers did a great job taking Tatum away tonight but of course that’s much easier to do without Jaylen Brown. They aren’t beating us in a 7 game series if we’re healthy. And I don’t think it’s particularly close.

Even then…we want OT now in the season? Jack up a 3, who cares. Get this short lineup some rest.
Meh. 5 minutes isn’t going to kill them. They’ll have a week off before the playoffs begin and everyone has been getting plenty of management throughout the year. A tough OT grind it out win without Jaylen and TL would have been a nice F-U to Joel and the Sixers before a playoff series.

Would basically take 4 performances at least as good as tonight from Embiid to have a chance and even then the C’s still have the advantage.

I also suspect the refs feel much less pressure to get it right the first time around given they know it can be “cleaned up” on replay. Same in NFL.

Why? Smart to me at this point isn’t as good as the other two.. and both of them are competent three point shooters..

If Marcus continues to play defense like he has been then there’s just no advantage to having him on the floor imo.

Smart made key plays down the stretch on both ends tonight. He’s been making “game winning plays” in these spots like tonight for years. He’s never not going to be on the floor at the end of games as he can also matchup defensively against a variety of players and is among our best rotational defenders. The position that will be matchup dependent, as it’s been all year, is Brogdon or White in the backcourt with him.
