Hell Chris, Helcris is starting for the Sox against a local sophomore:
Northeastern will pitch sophomore RHP Aiven Cabral against the Red Sox tomorrow. The Lynn native is 9-4 with a 2.78 ERA in 19 career appearances. Cabral attended St. Mary's HS in Lynn, which also produced Tony Conigliaro.

Nasty two-seamer for the backwards K. Merloni called it a "breaking ball," but it had arm-side break.
Yup, Hickey can crush the ball — SLG'ed around .500 for Greenville and Portland last year — but probably not viable defensively as a catcher. But probably not enough bat for 1B/DH, either. So... yeah. I guess he's a depth DH option?
edit: On cue he crushes one into the triangle...

I've been real, real down on the Sox this off-season but man is it nice to have baseball again. I really like spring training games, so low key and chill.
I was thinking of trying to do the T-Mobile thing this year.
edit: I gather that non-baseball fans with T-Mobile cell plans that include MLB.tv sell their codes online.
Last year's mlb.tv sub is still valid, they don't cut it off until early March sometime I think.
I like him more than JM3. If he gets near his ceiling, he's going to be the next Al Bumbry!

This Beckstine kid for Northeastern seems like a gritty, scrappy, heady gamer, a lunch pail guy who plays the game the right way.

The 3rd basemen made an awful throw. Glad it's not Meidroth anymore, as I was prepared to be a fan.

Definitely not.
I'm not even watching, yet I am confident that his high motor, always running at 110% of maximum, allows him to get the most out of his ability.
That's a guy I feel like I'm a bit more out on a limb on having him top 30, but I don't talk about him that much.
