Everton fans wrote to Howard Webb at PGMOL... and he wrote back!

I would fall off my chair if anything actually happened, but I didn't think they would grant the appeal either.

Nice goal from Willian carving up the defense in the box. I hope Andreas recovers from Virgil grazing his face. He’;s been down about 3 minutes now even through he already got the yellow on VVD

Liverpool looking devoid of ideas … expecting Nunez and or Gapko pretty soon after the break. Elliot’s not contributing anything so far. The kid Bradley at RB has looked fine. The announcers seem amazed that Fulham are leading - despite their mid table status and which lost at Anfield 4-3 earlier this year.

The “Go behind early, frustrate for an hour, win late” formula is going to lead to a lot of unnecessary death.

Bradley has looked very solid. To my untrained eye. Solid defending and gotten forward a few times. That was a great cross that unfortunately found Nunez’ foot. They are definitely missing Trent on set pieces. I don’t think Mac cleared a wall or first man in his attempts

Don’t forget that sweet nutmeg by Bradley!

With Trent & Robbo out and Mo away, Klopp has to figure out the set piece situation. Mac looked uninspired - though he seemed sluggish all around, needs to work back into form - and Drawin fucking Nunez’d his attempt.

I very much doubt all 4 matches will be at the same time. They just haven’t figured out the TV schedule yet.

Morgan Gibbs-White asking some salient questions
There is a pretty easy answer: The guy Varane was shielding after coming from an offsides position wasn't marking the goal scorer and had zero chance of impacting the play even if unimpeded, whereas the guy Endo blocked after coming from an off-side position was the goal scorer's marker.

In the Carabao Cup case, putting aside that Colwill (goal scorer's marker) stopped in his tracks and made no attempt to catch up after contact, Colwill is already a stride behind Van Dijk when the contact happens.

Given Van Dijk doesn't break his stride when he reaches the ball to make his header, would it be reasonable to say Colwill had zero chance of impacting the play even if unimpeded? Link to disallowed goal

I mean, I’m back at the point of supporting the European Super Cup. Let’s get the big selfish clubs out of their FAs and let everyone else enjoy football as it’s been enjoyed for 150 years. It’s a community game, despite some clubs thinking they need to be bigger than that.

Been a big year for gutting cup competitions, wonder what the next one to fall is. EFL have a fat target on their backs I am sure, but I wonder if this will hit any of the other top 5 Euro nations as well?

Just tuned in to City- Chelsea. 83’ gone. Not shocked to see it level, but would have figured 3-3with these, not 0-0.

but of course as soon as I type that here’s the City goal. Resistance really is futile. They just joylessly crush everything in their path.

Utd spurned a 3 goal lead against Coventry City, so now we're in Extra Time. I wasn't watching the match...I just assumed it was an easy day at the office for Utd.

Coventry drew a penalty in the 94th minute and Haji Wright was able to convert to send it to extra time. United should have scored early in extra time but hit the underside of the crossbar. Coventry are exhausted here. Just hanging on I think.
