The obvious ratings boost on two Disney outlets is one.

Also, on the ABC side it will keep eyes off the other networks and more importantly the other affiliates late local news. The NFL audience not already watching the ABC game rolls in for the last hour and the total NFL audience flows into the ABC stations post football late newscast.
