EDIT: I can't remember stuff anymore, the SB53 punter was Ryan Allen.
5/105 for a guard is insane. I'm not getting anywhere near that number. With Lindstrom signing his mega deal, signing Onwenu to an extension should be a priority
Makes some sense, McMillan wasn't good on D, but he played a good amount of ST, and his contract is barely over the minimum, and that's only if he makes the final roster. Plus he was coming off an ACL so there is some upside for this year given guys are usually better the 2nd year after an ACLIt’s so interesting to see the Pats doing these little deals for players Pats fans think suck (and player who certainly didn’t play great). It’s not big bucks to get Raekwon or Davis and it seems that the Pats would rather have them than a random minimum salary guy, but it does highlight a gap between what fans like and what the team values

Davis is likely a veteran benefit deal again, means he's just cheap depth.
I generally like the approach, you shore up some of your deep depth at basically no cost as you look to improve your top line.
DT Carl Davis - Reportedly Re-Signed
Analysis:"The Patriots continue taking care of in-house free agents by re-signing the role-playing nose tackle. Davis played 219 defensive snaps and nearly 30 percent of the snaps on special teams as an early-down and short-yardage run stuffer. Although he won't play a major role, his presence on the roster allows the Pats to flex defensive tackle Davon Godchaux to defensive end when the team wants to load up against the run by putting several big bodies on the interior D-Line." - Evan Lazar
LB Raekwon McMillan - Reportedly Re-Signed | Full Analysis | Bio
Analysis: "McMillan provides quality depth and experience along with Ja'Whaun Bentley and Jahlani Tavai, who was also signed to an extension this season. McMillan brings some added athleticism to the spot and should continue to see his role evolve on defense while maintaining a solid presence on special teams." - Mike Dussault
Wait for the reaction when they re-sign Miles Bryant. It’s so interesting to see the Pats doing these little deals for players Pats fans think suck (and player who certainly didn’t play great). Miles Bryant is a fine somewhat valuable player and every team needs guys like him--you're just screwed if he's one of your best guys.Wait for the reaction when they re-sign Miles Bryant.
I'd agree but I recall Miles Bryant Sucks being a consistent winner in game thread bingo.Miles Bryant is a fine somewhat valuable player and every team needs guys like him--you're just screwed if he's one of your best guys.
Probably notSome day maybe he'll be good enough for people to spell his name correctly.
Absolutely. He’s an ok player who gets housed now and then by much better players etc.I'd agree but I recall Miles Bryant Sucks being a consistent winner in game thread bingo.
No, he's fucking terrible, and like another guy with Y as a second letter in his name (Cyrus Jones, 5 fucking fumbles, are you fucking kidding me), I'm almost convinced he has compromising photos of BB somewhere on his phone.Absolutely. He’s an ok player who gets housed now and then by much better players etc.
Also he’s not good enough at football and I’m not good enough at spelling to get Myles/Miles right
UNLESS ... you look at this as Bill's secret plan to convince the Bills to use McKenzie as their permanent slot guy, where he was so mediocre they had to bring back Undead Cole Beasley. No, he's fucking terrible, and like another guy with Y as a second letter in his name (Cyrus Jones, 5 fucking fumbles, are you fucking kidding me), I'm almost convinced he has compromising photos of BB somewhere on his phone.
In 2021, Isaiah McKenzie had 20 catches for 178 yards and 1 td. He had 55% of those catches, 70% of his yards and 100% of his touchdowns against the Pats in week 15, when Myles Bryant was chasing him all over the field. It's the same game where Myles Bryant had a career high 9 tackles. Those things are not a coincidence.
I hate Myles Bryant.
Still some big-ish names out there I could see happening. Maybe Gardner-Johnson, Bradberry, or Vander-Esch?Do we think BB will make any big FA signing this year with all their cap room? If so, who?
Starting to trend as no in my mind.Do we think BB will make any big FA signing this year with all their cap room? If so, who?
To be fair it’s because he sucks.I'd agree but I recall Miles Bryant Sucks being a consistent winner in game thread bingo.
Myles Bryant sucked in 2021. Myles Bryant wasn't bad at all last year to my eyes. Maybe the numbers guys can weigh in.No, he's fucking terrible, and like another guy with Y as a second letter in his name (Cyrus Jones, 5 fucking fumbles, are you fucking kidding me), I'm almost convinced he has compromising photos of BB somewhere on his phone.

I don't care if PFF has him graded as the greatest defensive back in the history of the game. The man sucks ass.Myles Bryant sucked in 2021. Myles Bryant wasn't bad at all last year to my eyes. Maybe the numbers guys can weigh in.
I encourage the harboring of grudges though.
They needed a number one receiver. Now they need a number one receiver and a slot receiver. I don't know why people are pegging Meyers as the number one guy and talking about directly upgrading as if his absence doesn't mean another hole you have to cover. There's no one player they can get to make this offense functional now, Bourne isn't the type of slot guy their system demands.
There is one player that will make the offense at least functional but you can't talk to him until tomorrow because he self-represents, just saying. Think I'm ready to join the Lamar express at this point. They needed a number one receiver. Now they need a number one receiver and a slot receiver. Do they really need a new slot? I think Bourne is the slot unless they somehow add JSN.They needed a number one receiver. Now they need a number one receiver and a slot receiver. I mean, those WEEI personalities will be 100% in the right if they let Meyers go to sign Braxton Berrios or Parris Campbell. If they sign a “functional” slot guy WEEI personalities will say, the other teams are all upgrading and the Patriots countered with THIS??
Not that their opinion matters. They can trade for Hopkins and draft Flowers.
Battaboombattabing.
Myles Brant is worth 2.6 million but not the ( I think) 4.3 million second round tender to them, which means that they think he is a reasonable end of the 53 man roster defensive back/special teams guy but not much more.
Braxton Berrios, come on down.If they sign a “functional” slot guy WEEI personalities will say, the other teams are all upgrading and the Patriots countered with THIS??
yeah he seems like the type of guy they kick the tires on... highly drafted, lost a ton of time to injuries, still has some real skill and entering prime years. Why is it relevant what WEEI personalities say?
Would not be surprised if they had interest in Campbell.
The other day when the Pats expressed interest in Dorsett and it looked like Rodgers was going to the Jets, one EEI guy was like… the Jets get Rodgers and the Pats counter with Dorsett?I mean, those WEEI personalities will be 100% in the right if they let Meyers go to sign Braxton Berrios or Parris Campbell.
There's a guy in Central Square with half a bottle of Robitussin in him arguing with a telephone pole. We shouldn't worry what he thinks about the Pats offseason either. The other day when the Pats expressed interest in Dorsett and it looked like Rodgers was going to the Jets, one EEI guy was like… the Jets get Rodgers and the Pats counter with Dorsett?
What a waste it would be to fly that plane back and forth between NE and Colorado for one person.
