I don't get the whole shooting from 30 feet or whatever.. it's a tough enough shot already.JOrdan Poole hero ball
lol
Too soonLakers did what the C's should've done last night.. doubled Curry out deep and forced him to give it up.
Or better yet.. passed it.Poole could have stepped up and taken a closer shot
Agreed. It took forever. In no world was that a timeout before he was tied up
I'm rooting for a seven game series.Lame outcome. Laker wins are a crime against humanity.
Seems like the Warriors figured some things out late going small and playing zone. Hopefully some adjustments carry over to Game 2.Lame outcome. Laker wins are a crime against humanity.
Yeah.. not trying to relive it either. Just sort of shocked to see Curry not get any help there.. no pick, etc.Too soon
Denver vs LA would be a pretty great series I think. The Lakers have been among the best teams since the trade deadline, if not the best. If healthy, they are going to be a difficult out.
I mean it is really too bad that both teams can’t lose.Lame outcome. Laker wins are a crime against humanity.
Do you have to call it immediately, or do you just have to call it before you dribble/pass/shoot? It was a BS decision to give him the timeout, but I get why it was advanced. Why were the Lakers allowed to advance it? They didn’t call time immediately.
Lakers FTM 25-5. Definitely a contrast in styles at play here.Golden State made 21 three pointers. The Lakers only made 6. Got to be rare to be +15 in 3 pointers made and lose.
Yeah that was crazy.Golden State made 21 three pointers. The Lakers only made 6. Got to be rare to be +15 in 3 pointers made and lose.
At least then he'd have a puncher's chance.Poole could have stepped up and taken a closer shot
First game in NBA history, playoffs or otherwise, to have 21+ 3 pointers made, 6 or fewer 3s allowed and lose. 19 and 4 happened though earlier this season: Wizards loss in Denver on December 14.Golden State made 21 three pointers. The Lakers only made 6. Got to be rare to be +15 in 3 pointers made and lose.
I think they planned for no pick because they didn't want him doubled, but that was already happening. Kerr should've called timeout and regrouped once Curry was pushed back and it was apparent that the Lakers weren't going to let him go 1v1. 14 seconds left and two timeouts, hindsight is 20-20 but it would've been the right move.Yeah.. not trying to relive it either. Just sort of shocked to see Curry not get any help there.. no pick, etc.
Yeah, I thought for sure Kerr was going to call a TO once Curry got trapped.I think they planned for no pick because they didn't want him doubled, but that was already happening. These assholes are going to win again. Fuck. This Lakers team plays championship defense.
Yes, Curry wasn't going to get any kind of shot and Poole was open, from far away, but he can make that shot.Anyone else think that Poole shot was a decent one in that situation?
I was fine with it. Kerr should have called time.Anyone else think that Poole shot was a decent one in that situation?
Also Wiggins was in prime position for the offensive board. And if Klay didn't just watch the shot he very well could/should have beaten Schroder to that ballYes, Curry wasn't going to get any kind of shot and Poole was open, from far away, but he can make that shot.
For sure, don't get the Poole criticism at all.Anyone else think that Poole shot was a decent one in that situation?
Yes 100%. Curry is being denied by two players so unlikely he even touches the ball again and Poole has a clean look. If anything the problem I saw is that he wasn’t expecting the ball to swing to him so he wasn’t in shooting rhythm on receipt so bad on him there….but once he gets it that’s a shot he has to take.Anyone else think that Poole shot was a decent one in that situation?
Nuggets Suns, tooWeird that there are so many days off for Heat Knicks
Heat/Knicks and Suns/Nuggets both get an extra set of days off so that the series can all be on roughly the same schedule.Weird that there are so many days off for Heat Knicks
What I don't get.. why is Boston/Philly on Friday and Knicks/Heat on Saturday? Scheduling issue with the venues?Yeah, all four game 3s are Friday/Saturday and then every other day from there.
There have been presentations on NBA/NHL scheduling in the past at MIT Sloan if anyone has either been or knows people who have attended. The first thing to recognize is that the networks are essentially partners with the leagues and control the scheduling while working together with the leagues and arenas. What I don't get.. why is Boston/Philly on Friday and Knicks/Heat on Saturday? Scheduling issue with the venues?
A lot of the criticism I've been reading is that he had space (and time) to move forward 3-5 feet and still take the 3 pointer. I think that's silly. Yes he was wide open but Vanderbilt covers ground quickly and was moving toward him. In the same time it would have taken Poole to move forward Vanderbilt would have had time to get there to contest.Yes 100%. Taking a dribble forward also breaks the rhythm of catch and shoot which is a thing.A lot of the criticism I've been reading is that he had space (and time) to move forward 3-5 feet and still take the 3 pointer. The other point being made is he should have passed to Wiggins under the basket for an easy 2 and then try fouling. I don't see that either.
I was just going to say this. Between the unnatural rhythm and giving the Lakers time to close out the take a dribble in option wasn’t an option.Taking a dribble forward also breaks the rhythm of catch and shoot which is a thing.
I watched the play live, and I haven’t seen the replay, but my thought at the time was Poole could have set up a little closer to the line in anticipation of the swing of the ball once the Curry double team was being implementedI was just going to say this. Yes absolutely and I mentioned that yesterday. It was almost like he was shocked that the ball swung to him which is inexcusable in that situation.I watched the play live, and I haven’t seen the replay, but my thought at the time was Poole could have set up a little closer to the line in anticipation of the swing of the ball once the Curry double team was being implemented
