Folks will (and probably should) disagree with me, but I’m rooting for an underslot and to address pitching depth. There is just so much good noise around the MiLB bats - amazing depth - but I’m not feeling the pitching in the same way. Pitching is riskier, a counterpoint that I completely concede.

There is just so much good noise around the MiLB bats - amazing depth - but I’m not feeling the pitching in the same way. Pitching is riskier, a counterpoint that I completely concede.

Not in the first. You can get top prep pitchers in the 3rd round on. You don't need to waste a top pick on them.

I'll keep beating this drum: I want them to draft a catcher. Kyle Teel is the best available, but I doubt he falls to Boston.

In the two Bloom drafts when they didn't have a top-five pick, they grabbed someone who wasn't really on the radar screen. Seems like it's worked out decently well for them so far, so I expect something similar to happen tonight.
