Figured we need this thread. So fired up for this season. Lakers Nuggets on now. And Lakers out early.

I like Anthony Davis repeatedly barreling towards the rim trying to draw another foul on Jokic. That's just not his game.

where the darn libs live
I have a feeling that Schoeder is going to have a huge year in Toronto. Not like all-star level but a career type of year. Mostly because Toronto is a way more European city than anywhere in the US and he's feeling himself coming off of the Basketball World Cup. A stupid prediction, admittedly.

I appreciate a bold prediction. I also expect this one to look pretty silly come June.

the sun's bench looks ooooo mama real bad. I feel like I've been watching a preseason game outside of the first six minutes when the sun's had their starters.

Bold prediction thread?

1a.The Pacers put Bruce Brown on the trading block by the deadline.

1b. Boston writers and clickbait sites discuss how great Brown would look in green completely ignoring our inability to be able to send dead out to make it work.

Incredibly out of shape 34 year old Eric Gordon getting 4th quarter minutes for the Suns is not a good sign for them

I swear that I'm saying to myself who is that linebacker on the Suns second unit. He looks like post-prime Raymond Felton out there.

Their 3rd best player is out tonight. Not many teams can claim to have a much better 4th/5th than Gordon.
LOL 4th or 5th best player? He is old, fat, and slow. He shot 4-16 tonight.

34 year old fat Eric Gordon shouldn't be in anyone's rotation, forget 4th or 5th best player.

Every single team in the NBA has a better 4th best player better than this version of Eric Gordon.

Eric Gordon is still a good basketball player. EPM had him as valuable as the likes of Bruce Brown, Josh Giddey, and Gabe Vincent last year. Him being the 4th option on offense is pretty damn good IMO.

If he was on the Celtics he would be in the rotation above Pritchard and Hauser and would be the first or second guy off the bench

The Suns role players had a very good game last night. Gordon was big down the stretch, but they got good performances I thought from Okogie, Nurkic and Wantanabe as well.

Regardless of where Gordon ranks or should rank on any NBA roster's depth chart, we should all be able to agree that Eric's summer workouts look like they involved more buffets than super sets. Its ok, he will round into shape.

I'm not sure if "as valuable as Giddey and Vincent" is meant as a compliment or an insult.

Not sure C's fans have any standing to trash Gabe Vincent.
Gabe Vincent has been a trash player for years. Good for him that he had a good series against us, but are we going to start elevating .527TS negative BPM/DARKO players in the discourse because of a good week?

I don't think there's any need to call him trash. If he's your 4th guard, like Gordon is for the Suns, you're probably in pretty good shape. And he stepped up when the pressure was on, which I always respect.

Yes, you're right. That's a poor choice of words, as Gabe would destroy anyone that I played hoop with and everyone that they ever played hoop with.

Just saying, he's just another guy. Who had a nice series against us, no doubt.

Suns depth is fine. Most teams that load up with multiple max guys have a depth problem...but they also have high end talent.

I've also got the pixie dust wearing off a few ex-Miami role players that Coach Spo rinsed every ounce of value from...

Strus/Vincent playing bigger roles this season will be a fun watch

Not sure why Giddey is included either. Not many 21-year olds have had the kind of year he did last season with the physical profile to continue to grow.

Yeah Giddey is someone who would only be traded for an All-NBA level asset.

As many know I'm a huge Cade Cunningham fan. I really hope this kid stays healthy he's freakin special and flat out balling tonight. Heat begin the 4Q on an 11-0 run to get it up to 19 then Cade enters and leads the Pistons on a 14-0 run between a pair of Heat timeouts.

1st DAL possession - Kyrie beats his man, pulls up for his patented mid-range shot - but here comes Wembayama to block the shot. Amazing.
What got me was after Kyrie’s first bucket, Wemby started walking back like he expected to get the inbounds & bring the ball up.

It was cute when the broadcast team were talking about the Mavs improving their defense.

I'm sure Grant is thrilled with his contract (and the nice facilities), but the Mavs must be one of the worst teams to play on from a pure basketball perspective.

Lots of chucking, iso-Luka ball and halfhearted defense.

I still root for Granite. He earns his money effortwise. A lot of his flaws are exposed because he tries to do too much but imo its in the service of winning rather than getting numbers.
