Clips were likely going to add size by the deadline but this may speed up their sense of urgency. Zubac was critical to what this team does defensively.
Clips are 2.5 games out of first place in the West. If they can survive Zubac's absence, they could well end up as the No. 1 seed, which is crazy considering how they started the season.

I am starting to be concerned that OKC is too young and doesn't understand the ultimate goal. I have no idea why SGA plays 68 minutes in back to back games in LA with a bad knee. Last night was likely his worst game of the season (and he wasn't much better Monday) . It's not like they don't have a ton of depth (obviously none are Shai)

LAC is on a 17-4 run (.809 clip, projects to 66 wins).
Philly is 23-6 when Embiid plays (.793 pace, 65 wins).
That could be your Finals matchup— except that neither team has any track record of getting to the playoffs with their stars healthy. Will be fascinating to watch.

Ahhhh. The annual "the clipps look for real, for real this time". Dont fall for it guys. I see this every year for so god damn long i cant even remember. Last year it was PG's knee bending the other way (in a game when he did a 360 and we all wet our pants) followed a month later with Kawhi breaking down after owning the suns in game 1.

Do. Not. Fall. For. It. Another shoe will drop, a Kawhi or PG injury. It always does.

What probability would you assign to their staying healthy through the playoffs?

Also Harden will lay a giant egg in the playoffs like he always does. I won't believe in the Clippers until they are in the Finals.

1% chance heading into the playoffs but 98% an injury sometime in round 1 that ends the series but i still have to watch 3-4 more meaningless games.

Even if by some miracle that would happen, silver would come out like that year moonlight really won with another envelope. "Sorry, we got it wrong. The clippers are not in the finals".

I'm not worried about harden at all. He will pedestrian his way out the playoffs as usual. It's Kawhi and PG, they cannot stay healthy at all. And now Kawhi has an extension so there's no reason to even fake to push through an injury.

50% chance Kawhi stays healthy, 50% chance George stays healthy, and a 50% chance they can get Harden to play effectively in the playoffs. That's a 12.5% chance they hit on everything and are a legit title contender this year. If 2/3 happen, they have a 2nd round ceiling. 1/3 and it's a first round exit, or the play-in. That's my very unscientific prediction for the Clippers.

It was reported to have happened at a restaurant in front of the team. Maybe a choking incident?
Serbian paper reporting it as heart attack. Reddit thread here: https://www.reddit.com/r/warriors/comments/1991hnd/woj_espn_sources_with_the_serious_medical/?sort=new.

edit: don't know anything about this website but it's reporting - https://www.telegraf.rs/english/3819710-terrible-news-from-the-us-serbian-basketball-coach-dejan-milojevic-suffers-a-heart-attack - that Milojevic has stabilized. Hope that's true!

Two picks likely in the 20s in the really bad 24 draft. The Thunder/Clipper pick should be in the 26+ range. So those are almost like 2nds in a normal draft

Do you think the Pelican are going to sign Siakam or did you think the Pacers got the tax savings?
I certainly read it as the former (somewhat cynically by HRB).

IIRC he said the same about Toronto renting Kawhi. Every team seems to think they'll get that outcome, not the countless rentals that don't result in a parade and banner and then the rental goes to the highest bidder.

The reporting is he's "eager" to re-sign with Indiana. Not sure if that's agent fluff or if they have an understanding. (Don't get the Pelicans reference, either)

They 105% have an understanding. No way Indiana deals 3 1sts without that. Not happening.

I read that as the Pacers were now under the tax since we were discussing the Siakam trade.
I’m easy to bluff.

That is incredibly sad. I always hate the "but he's so young" thing as if it makes it easier on family/friends if a guy is a decade older/younger. That said...46. Damn that's too young.

Are Milwaukee and Miami resting everyone, or are they just getting their asses handed to them? (Watching the Cs).

Giannis not playing for Milwaukee. Everyone (Butler, Adebayo, Herro anyway) looks like they are playing for Miami. Toronto made 13 more 3s than Miami in the first half.

Milwaukee keeps trying to play zone and it just isn't working that well.

Based on the reaction to Milwaukee blowing out Boston, are we now obligated to wonder whether Milwaukee is headed for the lottery?

Are you going to quote specific people you think were over-the-top in the wake of the Milwaukee game, or just snark at the entire forum as a big undifferentiated blob, regardless of whether your grievance corresponds to the reality of consensus opinion?

I myself didn't offer much of an opinion, but I found myself agreeing with most of the posted viewpoints here in the aftermath, which were that we were just worn down and on a back to back and it sucks that the NBA scheduled a premium game that way, but it really meant nothing meaningful about our team.

If you're gonna call out an entire forum en-masse like that, at least do us the decency of quoting some people. Pics or it didn't happen.

I was more talking about the mass of national media and the vibes after the game. I thought the forum here handled it pretty well.

Chill out.

Fair enough, that was way too much, my apologies.

I feel like the national media has largely given the Celtics their due. They can't help but play up Lebron or Giannis or Embiid a little bit (Jokic seems harder for them to cheerlead over, for some reason), but when they're talking about how good teams are, I feel like the Cs always get the total sploogefest. Our depth, our defensive and offensive execution, Tatum's abilities in the clutch, how many all-stars we have, undefeated at home. It's going to be real hard to summon the "nobody believed in us!" energy come playoff time, at this rate.

Yeah, the Bucks game was as close as it got for that, and their stinker a week later shows how pointless even that minor hate was.
