Very few sports books require full match to be completed. For WTA (3 sets), every one that Ive used requires two full sets to be competed for sides action.Hilarious scoreline.
Madison Brengle defeats Dayana Yastremska 6-1, 0-6, 5-0.
That can’t be real.
Also, tennis is ridiculous for betting. Because Yastremska retired, if your book voids a bet if a match ends due to a retirement, Yastremska bettors get a refund when it should have been a L.
Good to know. William Hill is in the minority then voiding bets when there is a retirement or DQ.Very few sports books require full match to be completed. For WTA (3 sets), every one that Ive used requires two full sets to be competed for sides action.
Tennis is one of the more tricky ones as rules vary by sports book. The ones I use have two set rule but I’ve heard of others with one set and even first ball (match starts it’s official). If you can find one with the latter and have injury info that can be particularly valuable.Good to know. William Hill is in the minority then voiding bets when there is a retirement or DQ.

She's gotten her shit together in the second set12 double faults in 4 service games in a 1-6 first set loss for Sabalenka. It was honestly quite difficult to watch.
It won’t be a dull match, that’s for sure!Yeah, we almost had three of the top six women's seeds all go out within a few hours, but Sabalenka pulled it together.
Excited for Krygios/Medvedev in an hour or so, hopefully Nick brings his A game if that even still exists.
Plus FAA maybe heading for a fourth straight tiebreak, I was fucking pumped for this time slot since yesterday. That's ridiculous.
Taro Daniel is off to a very bright start against Murray - up a set and a break. (Fun fact: Daniel played in the first tennis match I ever called as a commentator, at Indian Wells in 2018.) We don't get Kyrgios-Medvedev on UK TV here, FWIW...or at least not yet, as we have Murray on Eurosport 1 and Raducanu on Eurosport 2.
ESPN+ doesn't have commercials? They shoehorn commercials to the remnants they leave for ESPN3JA, you don't have a Roku or a smart TV? ESPN+ is definitely the way to go for watching slams. You get to pick whichever match you're interested in and won't get pulled away because ESPN wants to show some fluff or commercials. Sometimes there's no commentators but I don't mind that.
I don't think the poster meant they don't have commercials. They meant that you won't miss any of the action because of commercials. If you're just watching on ESPN/ESPN2 the last week, you would notice that they're showing the matches in segments. Maybe 3 games of one match, 3 of another, Brad Gilbert and James Blake then talking in the studio, etc. Watching it on ESPN+ you will just get 100% the match (with commercials at the change overs).ESPN+ doesn't have commercials? I see. That's been my experience with the ESPN3 feeds for Wimbledon and US Open. It makes sense for ESPN to put more of that on ESPN+.Correct, you will never get taken to a commercial break and miss action as a result. But there are also some feeds, probably the smallest of the side courts, where you get no commentators and no commercials on changeovers most of the time - that's what I had the other night watching Korda. Just long shots of the players sitting there, doing whatever they do. Sometimes it can be pretty interesting to watch.
Yes, that's the rational response, but my irrational response is just 'fine, fuck you, I will spend my time doing other things.' Maybe I will change my mind sometime, that's where I am right now.Dude. Come on. I know you're our resident Djokovic fan, which kills me because it just makes Yankee fans look bad, but is he the only reason you watch tennis? When it comes to the broadcast, I agree, it sucks that apparently ESPN+ has become a requirement. If you don't have a smart TV, get a Roku and you should be all set.
Yeah, my wife and I always complain about this too (to each other), they can't have two outfit choices for their people in a tournament? Inexplicable.Sabalenka and Vondrousova are wearing the exact same outfit. This is a pet peeve of mine. Do better, Nike — I shouldn’t have to expend mental energy to keep track of which player is which.
Fritz with a big breakthrough in his career, into a Grand Slam round of 16 for the first time after previously being 0-7 in third rounds, after an impressive seesaw five set win over #15 Bautista-Agut.All four American women who made the 3rd round are through to octos. All will be facing a higher seed in their next match. Anisimova (Barty), Pegula (Sakkari), and Keys (Badosa) have the toughest matches, Collins (Mertens) has a little more manageable opponent.
Taylor Fritz and Max Cressey are the only American men still alive, both to play tonight/this morning in the 3rd round. Fritz has Batista-Agut, Cressey has Christopher O'Connell (not a name I recognize) who beat Schwartzman last round.
And Cressy is also through to the octos with a four-set win over O'Connell. He gets Medvedev next. Fritz gets Tsitsipas next.Fritz with a big breakthrough in his career, into a Grand Slam round of 16 for the first time after previously being 0-7 in third rounds, after an impressive seesaw five set win over #15 Bautista-Agut.
ESPN3 is free, enjoy what's left!they've relegated ESPN3 to show the Junior Boys courts and wheelchair, and nothing from the main draw....
