I hope Romero is half the hitter his sister was at Michigan. I’ve never seen such a good softball hitter

Could see Sox go big at 41 and then under slot for a more advanced college arm like a Parker Messick at 79.
I'm hoping Connor Prielipp slides to them but they kind of need a sure sign since the pick is unprotected; I think they pick Melton if he's available.

Brock Porter price himself out of the first round? If Sox go big, maybe him?

If you go to Romero's twitter page you'll see some good videos - an interview with MLB network during the draft combine and then some kind of highlight video of himself - looks like he was able to go oppo on one of them homers. Granted its aluminum bats, but he'll get older and stronger.

Liked the kids attitude and hustle in the clips. Definitely has some Pedroia swagger to him. It would be ironic since he and Mayer are good friends to see them play SS/2B someday at Fenway.

From Kyle Glaser:

Cutter Coffey has been tied to the Red Sox for awhile. Them, the Blue Jays and Guardians were the three teams hottest on him. It was just a matter of who could make the money work. Red Sox were the ones who did.

Coffey is a University of Texas commit.

Isn't just about every good high school hitting prospect a shortstop? I wouldn't really pay attention to the position, a lot of them probably move off to something else.

There are also very few HS left fielders drafted (high)

10 picks to go ... who's the best high school SS in California still on the board?
