around the way
Mitchell, Garland, Brunson, Jrue, VanVleet, Harden, Halliburton

Those are his peers. Where he slots in there is debatable.
DARKO loves your comps overall. Sees him very much in the Garland, Brunson, VanVleet, Haliburton tier, but behind the Harden, Holiday, Mitchell tier. Holiday is more or less on his own DARKO tier.

Brogdon officially 6th man of the year. In studio right now on TNT if anyone is interested.

He comes across really well in this conversation. Fully understanding of not only his role on the team, but what his ceiling is in the entire nba landscape

did he write all that? regardless hes got great delivery
If you stick around until the end Kornet interviewing Brad Stevens was a curveball that I did not expect. Luke openly asking to be re-signed a couple of times by way of fan questions was pretty good.

Kornet was very funny. When talking about Brogdon‘s nickname the President, Kornet said one question his teammates unanimously wanted to ask if he ran for president.

“What would you do to decrease tax rates on his income earners?”

I have to watch the rest of this later, but Luke has a future. He should be doing color for the game tonight.
In the "1st bus guys" piece linked to upthread -- or maybe a different thread?-- Griffin made it quite clear that Kornet is quite a guy. Has a great singing voice, too.

His mom was a news anchor, and his dad was (briefly) an NBA player, so Luke is basically the result of an intense breeding program aimed at producing bench players who can host intra-team talk shows.

That is some deep digging into the intangibles. Brad Stevens is a genius and a gentleman.

"Sam, so why *do* you think you're so targeted on defense."
Long pause.
"Must be my inexperience."

And I barely recognized Brad Stevens's voice. When did he start sounding like
Dale Arnold?

"The eclipse had its day in the sun. Now they just fake and drive."
" I guess I'll just have to punch the guy."

Shifting gears here, but just the fact that players are joking about Hauser Hunting means CJM/Brad have schemed for it every time Sam hits the floor.

Just think of 3Sam as the Swiss cheese on the trigger mechanism of a mouse trap.

No doubt. It's like having a section of the other team's playbook.

Didn't Brad say in that Kornet interview that his dad played football at IU?

Billy Frank Smart=
"What do we think Marcus Smart's father did for work" might be a fun diversion. I would guess it is something really intense, whatever it was....

When I read about Smart’s path to the NBA, it made me like him even more.

As someone who successfully went through cancer treatment, including radiation appointments when the patient scheduled before me every day was a child, when I learned about his foundation that tries to make hospital visits of children in cancer treatment a little less stressful and scary, it made me love him even more.

They could do worse in terms of hiring a developmental coach.
Yeah he looked over his head as the main guy in HOU, but he was in an impossible situation they hired him then Harden happened, then they saddled him with a bunch of super young guys with terrible attitudes/work ethics, and cut his legs out by basically telling him "yeah these guys play no matter what"

They seriously need to ditch Porter. In absolute terms I’d say you had to ditch one of Green/Porter, except that Porter’s been like this his whole life, and there’s no way he’s turning it around. Green might be redeemable (although I doubt it).
