It’s almost like the Pats gave two separate throwing camps going on. The WRs are taking turns working with Cam and Stidham in different parts of the country. Weird.

I think the point is it’s better to work out some of those issues now so they can go into camp with a head start. I don’t think anyone is suggesting the fact that some of the WRs are working out with Cam (and/or Stidham) automatically means the passing offense is going to be amazing this year, but on a marginal level the fact these workouts are happening is better than if they weren’t.These workout videos are such a worthless endeavor. Who knows how many misfires, drops and miscommunications happened to get that one completed pass with no coverage and no pass rush?
Cam floats around the top 10 in the last 10 or so seasons for number of roughing the passer calls received per 100 attempts. That's not going to cover 100% of what you're talking about, because he ran a lot, but he did get some calls. Not to counterbalance all the optimism, but I think he's toast, in part because his brain has been scrambled by the NFL referees basically allowing teams to hit him with lead pipes and folding chairs without penalty for the last decade or so. BUT! I'd love to be proven wrong. Either way, it's going to be fun to watch.
No one around here maybe, but I saw a clickbait headline along the lines of “watching Cam and Julian will give any Pats fan chills!!!”I think the point is it’s better to work out some of those issues now so they can go into camp with a head start. Brady gets rid of the ball so quick I assume he has fewer opportunities to get hit and therefore a call, but whatever. If the haterz wanna focus on that (admittedly bad) call against the Chiefs in the AFCCG, good. Let them remember that game WELL.Cam floats around the top 10 in the last 10 or so seasons for number of roughing the passer calls received per 100 attempts. For the record Brady is WAY down the list, which would completely flummox the haterz that think he gets every call.
I am thoroughly entertained! These are just terrifically shot hype pieces and frankly, wish they'd release more. These workout videos are such a worthless endeavor. Who knows how many misfires, drops and miscommunications happened to get that one completed pass with no coverage and no pass rush?
Seconded. It’s been awhile since I just bought in full on a hype train of any kind, but I’m currently sitting in my kitchen wearing my brand-new Cam Newton t-shirt that came last week, and I’m as happy as a clam waiting for Cam.I am thoroughly entertained! So I guess it’s welcome to Clamelot for you!Seconded. It’s been awhile since I just bought in full on a hype train of any kind, but I’m currently sitting in my kitchen wearing my brand-new Cam Newton t-shirt that came last week, and I’m as happy as a clam waiting for Cam.
It's a silly placeSo I guess it’s welcome to Clamelot for you!
Not really, Brady takes less hits and less sacks, so looking at totals isn't going to do much. Brady is pretty high on the RTP/Sack list. Though Newton is higher.Cam floats around the top 10 in the last 10 or so seasons for number of roughing the passer calls received per 100 attempts. Belated but I enjoyed this clam back.So I guess it’s welcome to Clamelot for you!
Well guess who's here to clamp down on the enthusiasm?Belated but I enjoyed this clam back.
After 6 Lombardis, understandable that Pats fans are clamoring for yet another championship.Well guess who's here to clamp down on the enthusiasm?
Certainly don’t want to soft shell it.After 6 Lombardis, understandable that Pats fans are clamoring for yet another championship.
If this year goes well, I’d be curious about whether or not we bring him back. I don’t think Tennessee had any thought of going past a year on Tannethrill but that obviously led to more. I know Cam’s running style likely means that his cliff will come faster but I’d be interested in a 2-3 year deal if he does well. Not only starter - but a captain.
But Cam and Belichick won't mesh or fit in together!!!Not only starter - but a captain.
ironic that Newton's downfall might actually be Newtonian MechanicsI know Cam’s running style likely means that his cliff will come faster but I’d be interested in a 2-3 year deal if he does well.
Honest question - Other than the teams that do it weekly, are there any that the opening day QB isn't a captain? I'm pretty sure Jacoby Brissett was a captain last year. Not only starter - but a captain.
I thought the other players voted on the captains. Is that not correct? But Cam and Belichick won't mesh or fit in together!!!
Brady wasn’t a captain last year, for one example. So I think it has some meaning.Honest question - Other than the teams that do it weekly, are there any that the opening day QB isn't a captain? I'm pretty sure Jacoby Brissett was a captain last year.
I thought he was (at least at the beginning of the year).Brady wasn’t a captain last year, for one example. So I think it has some meaning.
Hmm wiki didn’t list himI thought he was (at least at the beginning of the year).

The article also notes Andrews was picked and they knew he wasn’t even playing. It’s a teammates vote. Doesn’t mean nothing* but also not full BB backing.Hmm wiki didn’t list him
Dear New England, I will not and do not take this opportunity for granted. I'm so grateful for this organization, my teammates and this city; thank you! No need to look back now....LFG!!I can't read Braille. Please decipher.
Maybe? Or it’s just that the 1pm slate for CBS kinda sucks.
Browns-Ravens is attractive, but probably the Tua storyline (Fitz is supposed to start) pushes the Patriots game overMaybe? Or it’s just that the 1pm slate for CBS kinda sucks.
NYJ @ BUF
CLE @ BAL
IND @ JAX
LV @ CAR
were the other options.

I'd have gone with that one too, but you're right, maybe Cam or Tua tipped the scales. Definitely a bigger storyline with Cam than Cle/Bal.Browns-Ravens is attractive, but probably the Tua storyline (Fitz is supposed to start) pushes the Patriots game over
So we won't be inundated with a dozen Baker Mayfield commercials this season?I'd have gone with that one too, but you're right, maybe Cam or Tua tipped the scales. Definitely a bigger storyline with Cam than Cle/Bal.
God I hope not....I'm banking on the Browns hype taking a step back this year until they actually prove something, but that may be wishful thinking and is neither here nor there really...So we won't be inundated with a dozen Baker Mayfield commercials this season?
A huge step back from 6-10?God I hope not....I'm banking on the Browns hype taking a step back this year until they actually prove something, but that may be wishful thinking and is neither here nor there really...
You miss the word "hype" in there? Everyone had them as the next big team last preseason.A huge step back from 6-10?
Yes, yes I did. Sorry. Makes sense. You miss the word "hype" in there? Everyone had them as the next big team last preseason.
And absolutely no one does this season, I’d say the hype hasn’t just taken a step back it’s fallen off a cliff. You miss the word "hype" in there? Everyone had them as the next big team last preseason.
