The amount of hits Herbert just took at the end of that drive was ludicrous. This is legitimately WAY worse than Adam Gase shit
The game had a lot to get mad about but I think both fan bases have things going for them. Raiders need a bunch of guys on D which they should be able to get and Chargers need a serviceable coach.Trying to imagine this board if we were either LAC or LVR fans. Crazy.
Totally agree. But I think he's legitimately bad. There is really no excuse for the Chargers being this bad.It bums me out that Lynn isn’t a good coach. He is one of three Black head coaches in the NFL and seems like a really good dude.
Great result for my 4-9 Falcons last night, I will say that. You are 4-9 and winning only gets you a worse draft pick
Not really.Did our 2% chance of making the playoffs increase incrementally with that Chargers win?
Well, we're talking about changing something from like 6% to 7%. We want any team that hasn't clinched and not playing another team in the race to lose. Why does NYG beating Cleveland matter? Cleveland is 9-4. Do we really need them to lose another 3 games (making it 4 in a row) to make it in? Because, that almost feels like a less than 2% chance alone, never mind other teams needing to lose as well.
Just to be fair to both sides - the Pats barely beat the winless Jets (on a long field goal), barely beat the Cardinals (after they missed a makeable FG), and beat the Ravens when the heavens opened up for a brief time just as the Ravens were trying to drive (rain stopped as soon as the game ended). So for all the close losses, they had a bunch of close wins. TL;DR - around .500 seems about right for this team.I know it's over for the Pats this year (not technically, but yeah), but man it's frustrating. They win this week, and they're at 7-7, with tiebreakers over Miami, Las Vegas, and Baltimore. Now the Ravens are going to win out probably, but Miami still has to play Buffalo. If the Pats had just won one more game, they'd be right there for the playoffs.
And think about the stupid games they lost:
- at KC in the covid mess
- at Buf when Cam fumbled at the end
- at Sea when Cam got stopped at the 1 on the last play of the game
- vs Den when they didn't practice for two weeks
I mean, win just ONE of them, and they've got a really good chance to go to the playoffs.
Oh well.
Also, they were never ever ever winning that KC game, people shouldn't throw that one on the pile.Just to be fair to both sides - the Pats barely beat the winless Jets (on a long field goal), barely beat the Cardinals (after they missed a makeable FG), and beat the Ravens when the heavens opened up for a brief time just as the Ravens were trying to drive (rain stopped as soon as the game ended). So for all the close losses, they had a bunch of close wins. TL;DR - around .500 seems about right for this team.
How does the ref know where to spot the ball on shanked punts? What’s the process? I know the spot it where it crosses, what I mean is, the ref is like 20 yards away, what visual cue is he using to spot it?
Just saw this post, but here is what the process is supposed to be:I’ve always assumed it’s a guess
ThanksJust saw this post, but here is what the process is supposed to be:
Referee stands where the punter kicks the ball, and mentally notes where the balls lands out of bounds. The sideline official walks up the sideline and when he stands directly between the Referee and that out of bounds spot, the R signals him and he stops there to spot the ball.
In real life sometimes it’s just a guess, preferably on a big yard line.
Wait, is this the Payton Pritchard thread?Elite play by White.
